I loved the first game in the series, but haven't tried the sequels. This might be a good game, but it doesn't quite feel like Wizards & Warriors. Seems more like a generic platformer/rpg.
The first boss was so cheap. Even now I find it harder than the final boss battle. When I was a kid, it took me honestly a few days of busting my brain how to beat him. Finally I realized you just had to get lucky and land in the right spot to kill him. I felt so pro... felt like I was exploiting the game when really, it was the only way to do it... unless there is a better way?
@robotxhouse They all were done by Rare's music composer, David Wise. Rare developed Battletoads, R.C. Pro-Am, and W&W 1, and while they did not do much for Ironsword or W&W 3 (Ste Pickford/Zippo Games developed those games along with Solar Jetman, though Rare still remained in charge of development and had the rights for the games), Wise still composed all the music for those games.
i fuckin hope this game cums out on the wii for download or sumtin cause i hav it on the nes but the effort of settin it up :L seriously though i hope they remake it r sumtin
The Wizards & Warriors trilogy/(series) is one of the most under-rated of all time...
All three NES games (and even the Gameboy game) were incredible. I recently completed the third one and found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience, even in the 21st century.
@IsThisSumBattleToads theres a reason you enjoyed playing it so much. Back then games were made to be fun and entertaining not just "SUPER AWESOME AND CUTTING EDGE!!!" It's a dead art form making games that can capture that fun the 80's and 90's did.
Wow I must have been a skilled gamer as a kid because this looks hard! I managed to clock it once. It never occured to me then how ridiculous the bouncy knight is =D love the music
Wait wait... So you're telling me, Kuros, the most powerful warrior in the land, who weilds the IRONSWORD, has to pass a test to be in a warrior guild? He should be running that if anything.
2:31 LMAO!!!! @ knife guy!! That dude must have crazy skills if he can knock a guy in a suit of armor on his ass with a knife without even trying...!! "...Take that, b*tch...you want another..? There ya go..."
i mean this is a 8 bit nintendo game. Its not supposed to make sense. An italian smashing mushrooms became one og the best selling games on the nintendo. Did it make sense,no was it fun, hell yeah!
best game of all time and i'm a 360 fanboy. Couldn't quit playing it until i beat it. When i finally did (10 hours of constant gameplay), i had to do it again. The second time it only took 3 hours but one thing you do not want to do is tap A at the end really fast like i did and join him. (spoiler) he will kill you instantly and you lose the game. I love this game!!
Man I loved this game. But I could never get the third wizard's statue! I'd always kill the floating green orb thing, go down into the lower caves, and get stuck there forever. I once found the statue, but I had forgotten where the trial was and couldn't find it for the life of me. Those caves are confusing!
This was one of my favorite NES games and also one of the most frustrating. I can remember getting all confused not knowing what anything was suppose to do like the blue armor, the thief thing... i remember before completing the half of a certain stage i was already in a huge new one, like a... castle in the very sky? but just like Bastiest says, i also love all that stuff and despite i never got too far on this game, i consider it one of the best ive ever played.
Hey man totally agree. I remember I've rented this game A LOT of times when I was young.. it was awesome even though I never came close to actually completing something
Gotta admit that this game is really great and has right kind of fantasy like feel in it. I just like the idea of jumping in a town that reaches skies and such stuff.
How ever, I haven't managed to beat the game itself yet which why I don't want to spoil the whole thing by watching this walkthrough.
Awesome, I played the first 2 like a crack addict. By the looks of it I almost think I played this once, but its so similar im most likely wrong. I wish I would of owned this one. My favorite NES games next to the Zelda series.
I honestly didnt like Wizard & warrios 3, Part 1 and Expecially 2 were the best in my opinion. part 3 seemed too different or sorta like Zelda 2 style or something. didnt like it, didnt finish it.
the music is great in this game, the music in digger t rock is deadly as well. you should check it out. this game and digger were my favourite game music. i also like the music off lolo2 but its the same in every level, it does get repetitive, but its still cool :)

Is W&W3 as good as W&W1?
robertsfunny1995 10 months ago
@robertsfunny1995
IMO 3 > 1, ... W&W1 still had it's fun pieces but it feels not as good compared to #3. I still enjoy it but only because I played it first. :)

@xD0NKEYx I just wish they would upload it to the shop channel already...

Even though W&W III was by Acclaim and Battletoads was Tradewest and Rare I am convinced the same guy did the music.

Love this game. It's actually the first of the three that I played, and I like it best, by far.
For one thing you don't have those pesky critters flying in your face every second.
And that last moving platform before the levitation is sick fun.

I still can't believe that I managed to finish this game as 10-year old. It was pretty hard.
I wonder how many of today's kids would be patient (and smart) enough to finish it. My guess is - not too many.

Ugh, I enjoyed the original W&W but the series seemed to go downhill with each installment. This one never looked interesting enough for me to play.
Although I find it interesting that the citizens of that town have to jump from rooftop to rooftop to get around. lol
