I have just re-read what I've written and thought I didnt explain myself properly. I followed this tutorial to make a preloader for my animated intro page and in explorer the preloader does not show. The browser just loads the whole swf instead of showing the preloader first. Like I said before, it works like a dream in firefox :)

I have follow the tutorial for an animated intro page. However I am having a problem. The preloader works in firefox, but for some reason in explorer, the movie only plays once the whole file has loaded and goes straight intro the animated intro page. Until its loaded I get a blank space in my page. Any help or advice would be wonderful.

-.- I forgot to tell you guys... In AS3, ur variables must now be declared explicitly...implies, before hand and with a proper declaration syntax. I generally do this before i will use it in the script, so the very first key frame of my projects, have my variables declared. Before you use them for his code, use

var loaderInt:int = 0 [or whatever u want it initialized to]

and

var textVar:string

Oh, for some cases in As3, dont use _.xscale... use scaleX instead.

An extra "(" appeared in the AS2 code after math.round...duno where it came from Oo

Pay close attention to the need of the "toString" property setting, as AS3 will throw an error if you set a string to an int.

Also, new patches to make flash more secure may cause issuesto preloaders now, so you may want to look for more thorough messages of doing it from now on.
