  • I had to listen to this after reading 1Q84.

  • @michaelb1one You are completely right, the same happened to me when I read Kafka in the shore.

  • Look... 2 moons!

  • I was also brought here by Murakami...(:...This is fantastic..

  • This may sound strange but... does anyone else see two moons?

  • @carouselambra7 yes, in that first part.

  • I'm not here because of 1Q84. I don't even know what that is. I'm here because I love this music.

  • E' meraviglioso pensare che un grande scrittore come Murakami ci fa ritrovare qui ad ascoltare Janacek perchè ne parla nel suo libro. Ed è molto interessante ascoltare la stessa musica mentre si legge il libro.

  • sorry i m her because of 1Q84 too. I guess Murakami made this famous!

  • This was edamames favourite musak song right????

  • What year is this from? Oh, yeah, 1Q84.

  • Is there anyone who isn't here because of Murakami's novel? :D

  • Should have listened to this way sooner. Even in retrospect, you can a much better feel for what the mood of the scene is supposed to be when you know what the characters are hearing. Yeah, another 1Q84 comment, I just thought I'd join in.

  • First page-> close book-> youtube-> this song

  • lol everyone is here because of 1Q84!! including me^^

  • we'rein the 1Q84 world

  • 1Q84 brought me here. Interesting.

    Ciao Murakami from Florence

  • I think my reality must have shifted the slightest bit...

  • Check out iTunes playlists

  • 1q84 thanks

  • Murakami ♥

(poor Janacek, nobody gives a s*it here for him)

  • Unlike Aomame, I did not recognize this music based on the first few bars.

  • Another 1Q84 reader. They should have bundled this book with a companion CD!

  • It's the weirdest soundtrack to lesbian sex, which anyone could invent O_O

  • All for 1Q84...me too...

  • yes,1Q84, but i recognize "kinfe edge" by ELP on this one.

  • LOL .... me as well, here because of 1Q84 !!!

  • thank you father for lending me 1Q84...have only read 40 pages so far, but am amazed! I am now content knowing what song Aomame was listening to in the taxi ^_^!

  • I couldn't help but wondering what kind of music was with Sinfonietta, I like classic music but have never heard of it. An interesting and no ordinary music as well as the book :-) it's awesome how Murakami makes us feel his writing... And also awesome that so many people discovered this sinfonieta because of 1Q84!

  • Wow - good to know others listened to this because of 1Q84 too! Love the book! Aomame is such an interesting character!

  • 1Q84 rules! So -this- is the music that made Aomame leap into the next world!!

  • oh god so i wasn't the only one who went to youtube to listen to the music that was mentioned in 1Q84. XD

  • he was no "ordinary " taxi driver though. That is the point. A toyota crown royal saloon as a taxi and Janacek's sinfionetta. it is about the extraordinary. If it was ordinary you would not have come here to find this piece. Murakami has done his work well:]

  • Damn Aomame. You crazy.

  • I think everyone can agree that Murakami made us listen to this

  • @Jitmoud Sure...

  • @Jitmoud Definitely.

  • ... I also listened to it because of 1Q84!! This shouldn't be a coincidence

  • 1Q84! hello from Malaysia

  • Cekam da Kristina procita..

  • Song to listen in traffic jam, who knows what could happen? :-)1Q84 FTW!!!

  • I was a fan of Janacek before I read 1Q84, but I was pleasantly surprised when it appeared. Good stuff guys.

  • When you listening this, you can see "two Moons"

  • always feel connected to those who read/are reading same book(s) as I am. Love this piece as well. I can hear why he chose it.

  • 4 people are irretrievably lost...

  • murakami...... but the music IS pretty nice too tho

  • Did you notice that EL&P play the same theme? I've just recognized it...

  • I notice everyone is here because of Murakami's book! :D

  • "Stuck in Traffic in Tokyo: The Official Sound Track"

  • 1Q84

  • @marcsummers Indeed ^_^

  • heard it today on the radio and it was indeed a weird day

  • pardon my intrusion; but i beg someone explain to me what's this 1Q84 thing everyone is talking about??? did i miss something? :D ..haven't really heard of anything like that in the news lately...

  • @squarechannel Haruki Murakami's new book 1Q84...

  • @squarechannel It's Haruki Murakami's new book in which Janacek's Sinfonietta plays a role. Not his best book, but a very worthy read... start with Windup Bird Chronicle or Wild Sheep Chase perhaps... if you're interested in literature that is in some way as abstract as Janacek.

  • @angryfrank Start with Hear the Wind Sing imo.

  • @angryfrank: It ranks as one of his best, IMO. It's up there with Wind up Bird, Dance Dance Dance, Kafka and Hard Boiled Wonderland for me. I thought his last two books (After dark and that compilation of short stories) were a bit meh.

  • Taxi driver - well, but what´s about Ushikawa geting a bath? ;)

  • @ jiggier : re-read the book : it was played on the RADIO. (Not a personal CD of the taxi driver). And... whatever !

  • I feel im in 1Q84 !!! and that green moon is floating above my head :D

  • wow. this 1Q84 crap is ruining the comments of this video. screw if this masterpiece was in a stupid book!

    jk, 1Q84

  • here in mexico the taxi drivers do listen that music.........hahaha just kiddin' 1Q84!!

  • This song makes me feel terribly impatient!

  • Au rendez-vous des lecteurs de 1Q84…

  • 1q84 sent me.

  • this song gives 3 people an odd, wrenching kind of feeling. there is no pain or unpleasantness involved, just a sensation that all of the elements of their bodies are being physically wrought out.

  • wow

  • 1Q84!

  • "Aomame imagined 1926 Czechoslovakia [...] they enjoyed the peaceful respite visiting central Europe, people drank Pilsner beer in cafés and manufactured handsome light machine guns [...] at the time no one knew what hardships lay in store for them. This may be the most important proposition revealed by history: 'At the time, no one knew what was coming.' Listening to Janácek's music, Aomame imagined the carefree winds sweeping across the plains of Bohemia."

  • Me too ;)

  • 1Q84... I want to see two moons...

  • es la música que mencionan continuamente en #1Q84
