however, he is mostly just showing the skills and techniques, not playing with emotion, nor telling the stories, nor showing his own interpretation of this piece.
i will give 30% dislike to this, but James Galway is one of my favorite flute players, he is awesome i have to say
i have been listen to this amazing piece of music sens years in the radio (in orchestra)at the classical channel and i never knew until just now that its composed by Bizet i thought it composed by my friend Schubert all the time , the funny things that in 2007 i attend it opera in Europe and more funny that the opera in franch and we know that Schubert composed in German language so huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu iam very cultured person ,lucky me :))))

I feel sorry for the piano guy... pour thing.. nobody cares about him. galway here, galway there, galway up, galway down. WHAT ABOUT THE PIANO GUY?? So my comment is: James Galway AND Phillip Moll did a great job!
James Galways played this live in Sydney in 1988, in a concert for world peace. I recorded it from the radio and listened to it over and over again. I have just found this tape, and am making a digital copy of it while I search youtube for more instances of this magnificent performance. Thank you for posting this.
@Railey0Gail I beg to differ, he's for sure sweating... that being said, who wouldn't? I cannot believe that this is more or less ten minutes of unbroken technique, and it sounds so perfect and virtuosic.
Beautiful ^^"
