@aquachigger I go there a few times a year, I stay in the Barnstable/West Barnstable area. Where did you live? I was thinking about metal detecting the old fairgrounds in Barnstable next time I go down.
------@NicktheMainer I haven't lived there in a long time, but I still have family in Sandwich that I visit each year. I dig up there when I get the chance, but that's not very often.
@Dirtbarber Kodak zi8 a lot of metal detectorists on YouTube use the same video camera, I'd check it out. I don't like the editing software though, if you have a mac then you can use imovie with it. But for PCs it wont convert to windows movie maker. Another camera to check out would be the flip video camera, GoPro, or bloggie. Hope I can help. Good luck with you're metal detecting I started last Spring and the 250 is a great starting machine.
Congratulations on all your finds, including the coin spill, although it is a shame that none were silvers as you had hoped they'd be. Perhaps it was a kids pocketful of change that you found. It was a great video hunt and I enjoyed watching it very much. GL & HH if you manage to get out there again before it snows. :D
Great hunt and Great Scenery! Keep playing with your settings until your happy with being able to pull out even more good stuff! It looks like you have a lot of ground to cover! take a small area where you have had some luck say 3ft x 3ft and go over it again and again with different settings on your Ace. Then dig it and figure out what setting is best for this soil, site & salutations! You are doing great, just keep getting Grizzly Nick!
@GrizzlyGroundswell Thanks for the advice. I may try digging some settings I usually don't dig today. I want to live in Cape Cod so it's nice to get familiar with the soil.
@NicktheMainer Every site has different soil makeup and even the water content can change from morning to afternoon. It all factors in for sure. But you have a great detector and if you learn to utilize two or three settings for every sites soil and conditions, very little relic and treasure will be left behind. Although they say even with the best technology we are still leaving 70% or more behind! It is really a miracle that we find as much as we do! Your doing a great job Nick, Congrat's
@NicktheMainer Thanks and you as well! The cold weather has me in research season now! Hey the next issue of Temerity Magazine submission deadline is Jan. 20th. Would love to have your next installment after your first great article! Keep getting Grizzly out there!
@TheIlldigger Thanks, I was hoping for a silver too. I think the next time I get back and I can make it to the old brick yard I should find some silver!
"as you can see it might be a little hard"....(turns around and theres a boat two feet away) lol nice finds great video!
