I just got a Matchbox DeLorean, Black version of it. Looks good :) Even got the proper logo and tail lights. I was dissapointed when in the pack, the back looked like it opened, I tryed opening it and it didnt open :(

I have that car too, but I did have a problem with it. The switch for the wheels to fold down was too tight and eventually it snapped off. :(

I just got this 15th scale from a sci-fi shop in north france thinkin it was the sunstar. (didn't read the box much) they had the welly deloreans in there too.

Its a great model, shame its light in the hand, but looks fantastic...not going to bother with logos but thought what you did here was spot on.

While this instructional video is nice, the costs involved are prohibitive for most. If you are not a dedicated scale modeler then the ALPS printer is a waste of money, it's very expensive 300.00-600.00 printer.

I got mine back in 2002 and I just checked it; I had the logos on mine. Mine was made by Sun Star if you were wondering.

Great vid, just a tip when working with small decals use tweezers to pick them up this way you wont risk ruining the decal with your fingers.

I usually do. This video was put together in about 15 minutes and I didn't pull out all my gear.

I had enough problems trying to coordinate what I did do with the camera :) That's why you get to see so much of my hairy hands :)

from what I understand, there was licensing issues with DeLorean. DST was already 'late' with product. Solution was to just not have DMC logos on product to meet release dates.

DST should have simply contacted the real rights owner about the logos. I know he contacted them. I can totally understand how the issue is contended between DMC Houston, The current TM owner and DST. In the end, the easiest thing to do was take the logos off.

That leaves it open to us "creative types" to solve the problem :)

Ha! Sure enough... That's what I get for making a video in less than 30 Minutes :) I used the title template from a video that WAS made in 2008. That's what caused the glitch.

I'll see what I can do. Believe it or not the rights to the DMC logo as seen on the front is not owned by Delorean Houston. Instead it's owned by a friend of mine from Tulsa :) I'll ask if he has any problems with it.

Thanks Gary. I find that sort of odd that DMC houston doesn't own the rights to the DMC logo. You'd think that when they aqquired all the DMC stock, the logo caim in the package. But I'm also wondering why your friend didn't allow DST to use the DMC logo.....

It is odd. The story I head was that he contacted DST and they never really contacted him back. Instead they just took the logo off. DMC Houston has trademark to SOME of the different Delorean Logos - However two two most important ones (the front Grill and Hood label) are not among them believe it or not. The only car trademark they have that I'm aware of is the bumper lettering on the back. If I were to make decal kits, I'd simply take out the space between De Lorean to spell DeLorean.
