  • GOD HATES FAGS AND FAG ENABLERS

  • People tend to get it mixed up. They often refer to the 4 judges as "activist" judges. They're SECULAR judges. They may or may not be for gay marriage themselves. How they feel is irrelevant. The constitution obligates them to overturn discrimination.

  • i respect your beliefs but all in all they are your beliefs. Do not impose your beliefs on other that is wrong. As for the whole judge thing it is their job to uphold the constitution. Prop 8 understands that the justices have to abide by the constitution and that is why they wanted to add a discriminative amendment to our constitution. Now our constitution is conflicting with its self. Prop 8 was barbaric and stupid. By the way when your rights are being taken away I'll fight for you as well.

  • Gay couples already have all the rights married couples have and prop 8 doesn't take any of them away. It's just the definition of marriage that will make it so they don't start teaching kids in kindergarten on up without parents permission or awareness that "marriage is any two adults regardless of gender" ETC, like in Massachuessetts, where parents can neither opt their kids out or even protest. What they can do is get arrested and sued though.

  • oh look, you even made up a little screen name for this topic. obviously, you think you are such an important person that you deserve to dictate other humans rights? hmmm that's unfortunate.

  • Man, why can't people understand the concept of separation of church and state? SEPARATION. That means the government can't tell a church what to do. If a church wants to marry gays, good for them. They're "progressive". If not, they're "protecting the sanctity of marriage". Vote no on 8 because the government shouldn't determine what a church can or can't do. If this results in churches being FORCED to allow gay marriage, the government's interfering again. They can't do that. SEPARATION.

  • But there are places that aren't churches that do weddings also.

  • True. And if those places don't have any religious affiliation, then they should perform gay marriages. Since they don't have religious beliefs holding them back, the only thing stopping them would be homophobia. If you're referring to other religious establishments, then they should get the same choice churches should get. Separation of church and state means separation of religion and government in general, not JUST churches.

  • Hey, if you want separation of church and state, than vote "YES" on 8. Then churches won't be forced to go against their beliefs, or teachers for that matter, or parents.

  • Well, it's too late to vote at this point, but I have to disagree. Separation of church and state SHOULD protect a church from being forced to perform gay marriage. As far as teachers and parents, marriage shouldn't be taught in school, and parents have to grow some balls. Talk to your kids, they're going to be just as curious about an unmarried gay couple as a married one. Just tell them that your church believes that gay marriage is wrong. How's that going against your beliefs?

  • Enough is enough! Only the facts will answer everyone's questions and opinions. Please view the facts at: .com/watch?v=4JZIJnJWZBQ

  • Protect Marriage! Vote NO on 8 and make sure that the institution of marriage is not discrimatory against our gay sisters and bothers.

  • I think there are two polar extremes that care about prop. 8; a minority of fanatical religious people and the openly homosexual minority. The majority are everyone else and these are the people whose vote will decide the issue, even though most of them don't really care about it. That's democracy for you; the people who don't care are the people who decide.

  • The judge's job is to strike down unconstitutional laws. 22 was unconstitutional b/c it denied rights to one group of individuals. They did it based upon the 14th amendment and that "separate but equal" is unconstitutional. and 6/7 judges were republican. Yes thats right REPUBLICAN judges said it was unconstitutional. Their job is to protect the rights of EVERYONE, not just the people of one religion. Defend the Constitution. Defend basic rights. VOTE NO ON 8.

  • Agreed. Finally, someone with a brain.

  • what is with this argument that marriage should never be redefined. Why do we have to write a discriminatory constitutional amendment simply because of the entry in Webster's 1950 edition?

  • Because of possible overcrowding at the polling places, those voting No on Prop 8 will need to vote on Tuesday November 4th.

Those voting Yes on Prop 8 will need to vote on Wednesday, November 5th.

  • Lol! You're sneaky! XD. But not as sneaky as an absentee voter. "Yes"

  • Since when is the Constitution a place to voice your personal prejudice? The yes on h8-ers are using the same arguments now that they used against my marriage, before I and my wife were ever born -- back then they called it misegination! They claimed letting multi-racial marriages would ruin the institution back then! They claimed the exact same false "slippery slope" arguments back then too, completely ignoring the "2 consenting adults" definition. NO on HATE, NO on 8!

  • Powerful and to the point. Thank you for standing up and supporting traditional marriage!

  • Short & sweet! And to the point. Four judges over ruled the will of the people in overturning Prop. 22. We must take back our right as citizens of Calif to say what will & will not accept. This is NOT a Civil Rights issue; the comparison is offensive. This is about a small group wanting "Special Rights" People are free to choose their life style, but not free to redifine an institution that is several thousand years old. Vote YES on 8!

  • Well done video! Quick and to the point! I'm voting Yes!

  • Yes on Prop 8! Traditional families are the foundation of a stable society.

  • Yes on 8!

  • Well said and to the point. I'm voting YES on prop. 8!!

  • Thanks for the video--I agree. Vote YES on Prop 8!

  • I believe in Children's rights over Adult Preference. Kids come first. Which parent would you deprive a kid of? Mother or Father? It shouldn't even be a question. Kids are entitled to both a father and a mother. I was so glad to hear even our politicians agree on that. Let's come together and vote for the kids.

  • I would rather be in a home with two moms or two dads then ever go back in a group home. I may be entitled to both, but a lot of us, expecially us older ones, can't get that; we'll take whatever we can get. If two people are willing to love us and provide us with the family we so desperately want; why stop them. I maybe one of the lucky ones, my parents got me back, but they have been neglecting neccessary doctor visits to volunteer for Yes on 8 and I get worse everyday. Is that family values?

  • Well designed!! But more important then that, true. There are those out there who would like to draw a parallel to the Yes on Prop 8 and segregation. But the way marriage has been defined in the US has been that way from before our country was. Those who want Prop 8 to fail are throwing stuff out there in hopes to effect the vote. They are lies and half- truths. Vote yes to 8

  • YES on PROP 8! Marriage should only be between and man and a woman!

  • Judicial activism is rampant in this country. Its time the voters took a stand. Its time the Americans paid more attention to the fact their freedoms and liberties are going down the drain. Familiarize yourself with the Constitution, get involved and stand up for your rights! Vote Yes on Prop 8. Great video!

  • "Judicial activism"

That's a term that was widely used by many Americans when the judges overthrew a voted that segregated blacks and whites.

  • But how do you equate race and sex orientation?

If we legalize same-sex marriage, doesn't it jeopardize our society as a whole in turn of procreation? If children are being taught that it is okay to marry a person of the same sex, how do they have a desire to produce their children, and nurture them?

  • No it doesn't.

The desire to procreate and to nurture are instincts.

Did you never take a biology class or a sex ed. class?

Being taught that's it's okay to marry someone of the same sex, doesn't mean that that person will WANT to.

They will marry the one that they love and are sexually attracted to.

Sexual attraction isn't learned either. It's an instinct too.

  • But, I also know people whose parents were divorced. Yes, they have a instinct to have sex or procreate. But, they do have any desire to form a family.

I thought marriage law has been in place do due to religious reason. It is to ensure and promote continuation of our society through lawful and responsible procreation. It encourage commitment to spouse and children. But, redefining it to mean something else. What will be the unintended consequences? I can see a few, can't you?

  • How would it be redefined?

You said marriage encourages commitment to spouse and children.

That won't change, that's what gay people want. Why would they want to change that?

Gay people can make children too, you know. Being gay doesn't make on sterile.

So, no, I guess I don't see any consequences coming from that.

  • Main Entry: judicial ac·ti·vism

    Pronunciation: -'ak-t&-"vi-z&m

    Function: noun

: the practice in the judiciary of protecting or expanding individual rights through decisions that depart from established precedent or are independent of or in opposition to supposed constitutional or legislative intent

  • Yes on Prop 8!

Rights for EVERYONE. MARRIAGE between a man and a woman.

  • Awesome video! It's a simpler version of a great article I read about how we don't bother to pay attention to the Declaration of Independence anymore. Our government is supposed to be for the people, by the people, and of the people. They aren't supposed to overthrow a 61% vote.

  • Judges overthrew a 90% vote back in the sixties- the law that segregated blacks and whites. Judges are allowed to do that when a law treats people differently or unjustly.

  • Chuckle. I guess both sides are susceptible to fear mongering.

  • Excellent points and I thank you for taking the time to put together this video.

  • I agree with everything in this video, except the last line. Neither church nor government invented marriage. Why should either, or anyone else for that matter, be able to tell you who you can and can't be with.

  • Good question. Next question is, does Prop 8 tell you who you can or cannot BE with? Answer: No, it merely reinstates the definition of "marriage" to what it had always been prior to the recent ruling that overturned the traditional definition. Doesn't say you can't BE with anyone. Doesn't even say you can't have the same legal rights or benefits in CA if you enter into a Domestic Partnership. That is and was the law according to CA Family Code § 297.5.

  • Nice job on plainly stating the argument... YES ON PROP 8!

  • YES on 8! It is best of the future of our state and for the rights of all.

  • Great video! Short, sweet and to the point.

  • Right on!

  • Let the people speak on November 4th. And I think that it will be just as in 2000-- marriage is between a man and a woman.

My position for "Yes on 8" is largely about telling four judges that they cannot speak for me and 61% of Californians.

I agree with puns0steel, that whatisprop8 website has loads of information to explain Prop 8 quite thoroughly.

  • I DO! We need to remind those judges what the majority of the people think about the definition of marriage, which is why we need to vote YES on Proposition 8!

For your friends just learning about prop 8, there's a great vid called "Prop 8 in Plain English" on the main page of the whatisprop8 website.

  • Bigots!

  • Don't call names!

  • Don't legislate your bigotry!

  • You are on-tolerant person. Oh wait, I forgot that free-speech does not exist for those who oppose your point of view.

  • I meant that towards those who call names, ie Bigot!. Their requirement that we be "tolerant" of their behavior without tolerance for our views is the epitome of hypocrisy.

  • Free speach doesn't mean I can't challenge you are your stupidity.

They only whine about free speech when they are challenged or are losing the argument.

  • Hmmm...this seem to have struck a chord with you....and proves my point. let's see: Name calling is the last resort of the desperate. People doing this while hiding behind the web is my obvious point. It pretty much proves that they are the one who feel challenged.

  • Hmmmm....

KKK members don't like being called racists too.

  • there ya go...something we can agree on. The KKK in my opinion is complete evil. And those who participate in it should be brought to justice.

  • Succinct. Nicely done.
