  • I love this song. :) "What I Like About You" by The Romantics ripped this song off. Have you people noticed how these 2 songs sound alike? Obviously. That group sucks dick, and John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band/Eddie And The Cruisers are better and THIS is original!

  • Is this the official video or is it fan made? Because I have seen a few versions of this music video and I want to know which ones are official.

  • Yeah, great quality video.

  • One of my favorites!! :))

  • Never get tired of hearing this song!

  • now they saying elvis has half sister and he might just be still alive for real what would hapend to graceland if elvis was still alive

  • Eddie is hot sauce! <3

  • Eddie lives!!

  • I still prefer this to any real Springsteen song.

  • How do I know this song but never heard of the movie?

  • @batmanownsyourass That's easy. The song has gotten quite a bit of air time over the years. The movie has not!

  • do you believe it as you see it? Then ...it's real...

  • @rockerxxxqt

    Ciao Bello!

I first saw these guys in the 1984 film "Streets Of Fire"! It was a quasi gritty urban set "Rock Opera"! I found their music to be rather "Derivative"at the time, but heck I was a "Snotty" out n'angry queer(LGBT/gay) kid, who had been into the likes of "Joy Division" and "Bauhaus", so it was unfair to deride others! I didn't care much for the movie either, but it did give the world one pearl, by introducing it to actress "Diane Lane"!

    Grazie Mille!

  • I thought the first one is a classic! Soundtrack was one of the best of the 80's. When I saw it..it was cool to see a lot of familiar scenes from my family's nearby summer home in Mamora, NJ outside Ocean City. Tony's Bar (which burned down), Ebb Tide Motel in Somers Point, NJ - across the 9th St. bridge. Of course, somewhat loosely based on Springsteen E St. Band, my favorite band back then and still today! I have to watch this again soon, been ages!

  • Don't really like the first one, but I love the sequel.

  • This song rips a bit from "She's the one" by the boss man..

  • I'm not in school anymore, so I don't care about my spelling which is fine my typing is what sucks and I apologize for misreading you'r post I just hate it when people are so mean to others everyone has there own opinion on music and movies and so on. and if they don't know it's not a real band then,oh well not really my problem maybe the are young? only us older folks remember when this movie came out,John Pare (if I remember his name right) did a great job! the movie and music was great .

  • Nothing sounds sexier than a sax.

  • I just saw second one... and the First one is easily the best.

  • that singers on some good pills

  • @creatingexcellence = i concur whole-heartedly. that performance was so good he made people believe there was an Eddie & the Cruisers. my guess is that he or his agent hurt somebody's fragile feelings and the rest of us have to suffer with what could have been and what if...

as for the songs & the group = COMPLETELY AWESOME - hands down. that music lives on and will forever touch people. good job John C. & the BB Band!!

  • Thumbs up if you are here because of Venture Brothers Season 3 Episode 8

  • Eddie Wilson is a fictional character. John Cafferty and the brown beaver band wrote the music for this movie...they also play them live believe me Ive seen them in concert

  • what do u meen they never existed? your fucking stupid! were do u think they came up with the eddiie and th crusiers? they even made a movie about these guys u fucking idiot! mr.evilunixuser, your a fucking moroon! thank u very fucking much and dont start fucking run your mouth on me, cuz i will find u and hurt u!!

  • @mattsr100 : Are you joking, or are you really that ignorant?

  • @DeepSouthWrestling1 you shouldn't critisize ppl for there taste in music or anything for that matter.maybe you'r the ignorant one

  • @kelly1972L : You should really read the post I'm commenting on. I'm not criticizing anyone's taste, but the fact that mattsr100 can't discern that Eddie & The Cruisers are not a real band, but a work of fiction! Only an ignorant person would make a post getting on to someone because they think E&TC were a real band!! Read the post, then get back to me... but, I have to admit, I'm resisting the temptation to criticize your abominable spelling!!

  • @mattsr100 Eddie and The Cruisers are not a real band John Cafferty and the BeaverBrown band wrote and performed the songs in the movie it was all lip synched Michael Pare' is an actor google it if you don't believe it but it's true! so is Tom Berenger(the keyboards) they have all been in other movies look up "the Big Chill"(great soundtrack on that one too) =]

  • these were to great movies it would have been cool if they would have done a third one showing all his ex band mates thier reaction after finding out he was alive.

  • Based on the performance of Michael Paré (Eddie Wilson) in the first Eddie and the Cruisers, I can't believe he never became an A List actor.

  • I can't even count how many times I've listened to this song. Even now it's impossible to listen to it just once.

  • What happened to Eddie and the Cruisers?

  • After I saw the movies which are pure entertainment we started living the Rock a Billy life style and will right up util Elvis leaves the building again.

  • Classic Movie!!!

  • thanx for sharing. eddie and the cruisers is one of my favorite movies. the character eddie and his love for music, is how it should be in the real music industry

  • They exist everytime you watch the movies.

  • @1939PlymouthRatRod Keep the dream.

  • I was an extra in this movie. I was at Tony Marts for 5 days in the second week of May, 1982. I was in the scene directly after this when they show Wendel being carried out of the Ebb Tide motel to the ambulance. I'm the short guy wearing the light colored coat, under the umbrella. My parents were extras too. They are on the balcony, looking down. I earned $80 for a couple hours of work. :)

Great movie with an amazing cast. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget.

  • One of the best movies and soundtracks ever!

  • 2 people like justine beiber

  • dayum this guy was fine!! great movie :P

  • The problem with 80s movies set in the 50's is they have to make the music 80's rock sounding. doesn't sound anything like rock and roll.

  • @RoninAvenger True, but it still sounds pretty good right? :)

  • @RoninAvenger This took place in the 60s. And the 80s are rock

  • after i saw the movie, i bought the soundtrack and played the shit out of this song. John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band is great!

  • @evilunixuser1

they did =) the beaver brown band

  • LOVED THAT MOVIE AND EDDIE !!!!!!

  • hello to everyone at the moment I'm watching this movie I remember it arrives qe aber as a child as 30years ago and never tire of seeing her live the rock and roll

  • Comment removed

  • wow, awsome......so makes you belibe eddie and the cruisers were real...

  • It's ironic how you see this video on tv more than the John Cafferty video.

  • classic song classic movie

  • This song brings me back alot of memories when i was teenager back in the 1980s !

  • that would be John Cafferty and the Brown Beaver Band folks. not Eddie and the Cruisers. and this guy is just an actor Michael Pare'

  • if Eddie did't exist y o y r we hearing great,songs?

  • if eddie did't exist y o y r we hearing great,songs?

  • LOVE the movie...but hate the movie and the groups manager in the movie

  • loved this in the 80's love it now

  • This movie has ALWAYS been my fav. Don't laugh. The songs just stay in your head

  • ON THE DARKSIDE OHHHHHHHHHH YEAH

  • Does anyone out there think Arcade Fire sounds just like this? I cant be the only one.......

  • @jjbandana Not even close.

  • @jjbandana thanks for the input... yep but, alittle fresher-good group!

  • is that Aiden Quinn on the drums? Is it me or do all the members of the band kind of look like Michael Pare the "lead singer" even though it's not really him singing?

  • SUPER SONG

    GREAT MOVIE

    K9UP

  • Michael Pare soooo HOT!!! I had a huge crush on him... even though I was only 11-years-old :0)

  • Aww I havent seen this in years!! Me and my dad and brother loved this movie and we would watch it together on summer nights when my mom was working the graveyard shift...gosh i must have been like 9 when i was introduced to this movie. Good memories :)

  • I was 22 when this came out. Thought I was something special at that age. Being all grown up. boy... what a wake up call. Looking back now, I was still just a kid. But I had a good time back then being one. Brings back some really cool memories.

  • Wow, what a blast form the past! LOL! Being a kid during the 80's was awesome! i'd never trade it for anything! Generation X rules!!

  • This was a truly underrated movie, I saw it 20 years ago at least and this song still gets to me. Michael Pare and cast were great!

  • Eddie lives!!!!!

  • It's funny they sound like the Modern Lovers lol

  • loved both the cruisers movies.....EDDIE LIVES

  • Love this song!!! If you like this song/ video, do a search for "Streets of Fire" same actor, another great movie!!!

  • John I have been a fan for 20 years and I just turned 30..this is not JOKE.iF anyone could tell me your address I would write to you .. your a legend in my home

  • I totally bought Michael Pare as Eddie. He lip synced really well, but more than that he looked the part. He looked like he would sound like that, and even the sweat on his face looked legitimate. I was quite the in-love four-year-old when I first saw this movie, haha.

  • FAvorite movie and 2nd one one of my favorite songs i like tender years i never get tired of eddie of eddie and the cruisers EVER and im only twelve my mom watched this when she was a little girl

    Love this song....

  • @evilunixuser1 they did, it was call John Cafferty & the beaver brown band.

  • @evilunixuser1 Yeah.. it was actually sang by John Cafferty & the Beaver Brown Band

  • @evilunixuser1 ... it's all about the music, d!p$h!t

  • @evilunixuser1 I thought they were real band that made a movie about themselves . what a shame. LOL

  • @evilunixuser1 Your a retard.. period end of story...

  • @evilunixuser1 They did, they were called John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.Michael Pare lipsinked everything. The sax player is the sax player from the Beaver Brown Band.

  • @evilunixuser1 they kinda do check out john cafferty and the beaver brown band the guy who plays the sax is the same guy from the movie

  • @evilunixuser1

what do you mean they never existed...I am watching their video right now, must be some kinda real, next thing you'll say is that Milli Vanilli was not real

  • @evilunixuser1 They do its right in front of you, its as real as anything else if you ask me...John Cafferty may have written and performed the songs but noone thinks of him when they hear these songs, first thing you think of is Eddie Wilson, or at leas I do, cause Im just some guy from Jersey so I have a lot of pride here heh

  • @evilunixuser1 no insted it was john cafferty and the beaver brown band

  • @evilunixuser1 They exist in the music:)

  • was it really the beaver brown band? thats f'ed up.

  • Yes. John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band. The only one that actually played in the movie was Michael "Tunes" Antunes who played the sax and is also a member of the Beaver Brown Band

  • interesting, thank you.

  • Always and I mean ALWAYS good to hear this song

  • @jerrydon575 i agree

  • RobertHollisByrd- why dont you go listen to your collection of Coldplay? Remember, you need to dress, act, and paint your fingernails black, just like The Cure, so you too can be a non-conformist! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Lol

  • Great song and video. I love the oldies.

  • One of all time Favorites. It had everything, the music, the Time Period, and the Mystery if Eddie's Death or Not??

  • The only way to describe Eddie & The Cruisers and THIS song, is to picture yourself being totally engulfed and wrapped comfortably in a blanket of 100% pure BAD ASS!!!

  • This what you call DA SH!T!!! I JUST LOVE to see this movie and these guys on stage. My favorit comments was Word man and Music man, you need both to have a good sound, and that remain true for all good music. A WORD MAN, A MUSIC MAN DAMN THAT DA SH!T

  • I was there in the early 80's and this in a touchstone for all of us who were there!

  • several parts of both movies still give me chill bumps

  • You mean goose bumps. O_o?

  • is there a difference? ;)

  • Um well depends.

Ive never heard anyone say chill bumps so I thought you might of like made a mistake or something. Haha is there a difference? ;D

  • Either way, goose or chill bumps, a shiver down your spine and hairs standing up on your arm, it's a love of the music.

  • You got that right!

  • good times good times....

  • I love both of the movies. I love all the songs. They never get old. Same as the movies. I love It =]

  • Ooooo Yeah!!! :)))

  • Great song from one of the greatest cult classics ever.

  • amazing song.

  • i would have enjoyed this movie if they didnt play this song every 5 minutes!!

  • loved this movie. props.

    END TRANSMISSION.

  • The sax is the key to the song!

  • the lip syncing is awful, good movie though.

  • its youtube if you watch the actual movie its dead on... its not synced right from uploading

  • awful? You moron, these two movies have the best lip syncs ever!!!!!!

  • You'd probably say the same thing for Milli Vanilli.

  • no milli vanilli's was terrible, suprised people didn't know immediately, especially since the amount of males and amount of females are completely different in the real band than in the fake one.

  • How could you say that? There's sound still going as he moves away from the microphone... And it doens't get any softer. Anyone who knows anything about the way microphones work could tell you that lip synching is awful.

  • it has an echo effect as he moves away, whichmakes the lip synch great!!!

  • I went and found the full movie and watched it. I take back my previous statement. Blame youtube for out of synch audio. The lip synching isn't bad at all.

  • OMG... i love this.. movie/song!!! Oh Hell Ya

  • This is my most fave movie ever!

I watch it all the time!

    He is so frickin hott!!!!!!!

  • frickin awesome i love this movie ... michael pare is hot !!

  • sick this movie was on tv last night first time i ever seen it and it was great but i kinda wish eddie was still alive at the end lol

  • He was. He was that guy with the beard who walked away last.

  • You need to see Eddie and the cruisers 11! I don't so much care for the first one !!The music is amazing, ok your homework is to see the second one !!!then get back to me !!!

  • i thought the first 1 was better

  • he is. eddie and the cruisers 2. eddie lives. eddie was at the end of number 1

  • yea i turned it off before the very end i thought it was over when she gave the dude the tapes and he drove away

  • this is such an Awesome movie!!!!!!
