I love this song. :) "What I Like About You" by The Romantics ripped this song off. Have you people noticed how these 2 songs sound alike? Obviously. That group sucks dick, and John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band/Eddie And The Cruisers are better and THIS is original!
I first saw these guys in the 1984 film "Streets Of Fire"! It was a quasi gritty urban set "Rock Opera"! I found their music to be rather "Derivative"at the time, but heck I was a "Snotty" out n'angry queer(LGBT/gay) kid, who had been into the likes of "Joy Division" and "Bauhaus", so it was unfair to deride others! I didn't care much for the movie either, but it did give the world one pearl, by introducing it to actress "Diane Lane"!
I thought the first one is a classic! Soundtrack was one of the best of the 80's. When I saw it..it was cool to see a lot of familiar scenes from my family's nearby summer home in Mamora, NJ outside Ocean City. Tony's Bar (which burned down), Ebb Tide Motel in Somers Point, NJ - across the 9th St. bridge. Of course, somewhat loosely based on Springsteen E St. Band, my favorite band back then and still today! I have to watch this again soon, been ages!
I'm not in school anymore, so I don't care about my spelling which is fine my typing is what sucks and I apologize for misreading you'r post I just hate it when people are so mean to others everyone has there own opinion on music and movies and so on. and if they don't know it's not a real band then,oh well not really my problem maybe the are young? only us older folks remember when this movie came out,John Pare (if I remember his name right) did a great job! the movie and music was great .
@creatingexcellence = i concur whole-heartedly. that performance was so good he made people believe there was an Eddie & the Cruisers. my guess is that he or his agent hurt somebody's fragile feelings and the rest of us have to suffer with what could have been and what if...
as for the songs & the group = COMPLETELY AWESOME - hands down. that music lives on and will forever touch people. good job John C. & the BB Band!!
Eddie Wilson is a fictional character. John Cafferty and the brown beaver band wrote the music for this movie...they also play them live believe me Ive seen them in concert
what do u meen they never existed? your fucking stupid! were do u think they came up with the eddiie and th crusiers? they even made a movie about these guys u fucking idiot! mr.evilunixuser, your a fucking moroon! thank u very fucking much and dont start fucking run your mouth on me, cuz i will find u and hurt u!!
@kelly1972L : You should really read the post I'm commenting on. Only an ignorant person would make a post getting on to someone because they think E&TC were a real band!! @mattsr100 Eddie and The Cruisers are not a real band John Cafferty and the BeaverBrown band wrote and performed the songs in the movie it was all lip synched Michael Pare' is an actor google it if you don't believe it but it's true! so is Tom Berenger(the keyboards) they have all been in other movies look up "the Big Chill"(great soundtrack on that one too) =]
these were to great movies it would have been cool if they would have done a third one showing all his ex band mates thier reaction after finding out he was alive.

Aww I havent seen this in years!! Me and my dad and brother loved this movie and we would watch it together on summer nights when my mom was working the graveyard shift...gosh i must have been like 9 when i was introduced to this movie. Good memories :)
I was 22 when this came out. Thought I was something special at that age. Being all grown up. boy... what a wake up call. Looking back now, I was still just a kid. But I had a good time back then being one. Brings back some really cool memories.

what do you mean they never existed...I am watching their video right now, must be some kinda real, next thing you'll say is that Milli Vanilli was not real
@evilunixuser1 They do its right in front of you, its as real as anything else if you ask me...John Cafferty may have written and performed the songs but noone thinks of him when they hear these songs, first thing you think of is Eddie Wilson, or at leas I do, cause Im just some guy from Jersey so I have a lot of pride here heh
Yes. John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band. The only one that actually played in the movie was Michael "Tunes" Antunes who played the sax and is also a member of the Beaver Brown Band
RobertHollisByrd- why dont you go listen to your collection of Coldplay? Remember, you need to dress, act, and paint your fingernails black, just like The Cure, so you too can be a non-conformist! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
as kids, my sister and i were literally crushed when we found out that it wasnt actually michael pare singin! haha we were sooo in love with him! heck i still am!! he was crazy hot back then
The only way to describe Eddie & The Cruisers and THIS song, is to picture yourself being totally engulfed and wrapped comfortably in a blanket of 100% pure BAD ASS!!!
