i fence at probably one of the best sabre places in the country, Sada's home club, the olympic coach's club, so whoever said this was bad or whatever is dumb

Forgive my ignorance, but who is on the left and who is on the right? I've been fencing for 8 years, and I enjoy watching Olympic-level fencers, but I usually can't tell who is who.

Why do people think saber is lame? It takes a lot out of your body, I've been doing saber for a year so I know. It's much cooler in foil for the fact there is more to block/attack. AND you can do both points and slashes. I do have to agree that electric fencing is a joke because form go out the window when people have bouts

@lovefordante people have different reasons for joining sabre. I like to think fast...because i like the feel of a real duel. Sure, in foil you can actually feel your opponent out..like you said "more to block/attack". But that's when foil itself became a joke. Did you really think that in a real fight you can take your sweet time? Sabre electric is as good as it gets...and its a good thing that the stupid right of way crap gets thrown out. Form? do you fence to win or to look pretty?

Fencing has been a joke since electric weapons. It not only changed the engagement distance, but they also stopped enforcing right-of-way. Whatever it is, it isn't fencing. It's just poking and hoping you get the touch.

@jkantor267 why cant some people admit that they're slower and basically inferior than the other fencer? i think this is the reason why people complain about electric fencing. I don't know what kind of fencing you do but its sound pretty stupid..i control my bouts..i set everything up for the right so called lucky poke that you spoke of. inferior creature..you're sad...go cut your wrist with an epee. lol

Have you ever hold a sabre in your hands?

I did and I do so, and you don't now, how difficult it is, to fence. You have to hold the hits from the other fencer, and it is really, really difficult and hard!
