My horse is related to one of the ''nine's'' mare in LOTR! she looks exactly like them, I love it because every time I'm galloping across open land, I start singing the song to the bit where they are chasing arwen and pretend I'm a nazgul. Wow I'm sad....
shame they didnt have shown true power of witch king in movies as tolkien did in books but they did made him the most bad ass looking movie character ive ever seen ;))+
with all the forces that sauron could muster and all the power of mordor that he had it seems almost impossiable that the good guys shouldve prevailed at helms deep or minas tirith let alone trying to battle them at their front gate X_x and how the hell do hobbits sneak into a fucking burning volcano surrounded by millions of orcs ????? X_x
@RavenMaster1313 Ummmm read the books chief you're wrong. The riders are "The Nazgûl". The flying creatures they ride after they lost their mounts at the Ford of Bruinen are referred to as "fellbeasts", "hell hawks" and "Nazgûl-birds" by different sources. Trying to correct someone before you know the answer is a nasty habit little on.
They kinda lose something if you're from the pacific NW, there's a couple times they just use an elk's call instead of that eerie glass-on-steel scream.
How it's possible that "good guys" could win with Sauron if he had 9 the most fearest warriors from darkness, 9 black riders !? Frodo should die, The Fellowship of the Ring should failed . Thats how The Lord of the rings should have ended.
@MACBALLISTIC Because they kept off the trails and mostly just stayed away from them, if they went full on fisty cuffs with all nine of them then sure they'd get their asses kicked, but they mostly just tried to avoid them.
i wish the did another film but the enemy got the ring and the dark lord came back in a human form then he could revive my favourite evil charecter the mouth of sauron
I might be the only person who feels this way, But I think the Nazgul were way creepier and badass before they had the fell beasts (dragons), in the first movie they were so dark and menovolent, after they got the fell beasts they just seemed like brutes
Wow, this video was put together very well. And as a person who thought the Nazgûl were some of the most awe inspiring characters in Tolkiens universe i liked this one extra much.
If more people made videos like this, rather than those corny clips that are dubbed with jonas brothers singles, youtube would be a more enjoyable place, lol.
@marilea236 Somehow the shire is like england or somewhere while everywhere else is medieval. The nazgul are cool on horses but when theyre on the fell beats they pwn.
If you all understand the true nature of the Nazgûls, what they are, you will all understand that they are all around you, all over the world. You will find them in politicians, bankers, scientists etc. and if you look hard enough, you will even find one them in yourselves. Who knows! Perhaps you, yes I'm talking to you, will be the next Nazgûl to walk this earth with the only goal to rip it apart by the command of the Supreme Evil.
you started off pretty good and grasped the concept pretty well. its not about being commanded by Evil though. Its about being demanded by your greed and hatred. Each of us have our own wraiths to conquer but its more of a battle within yourself weather you choose to be led by you temptations.
I think PJ did a really good job for the most part; in particular he suceeded with designing ME in a most impressive way.
The only downside are the script-writers, who sometimes made strange and often unnecceseary deviations from the book.
For instance when Legolas was about to enter the paths of the dead he referred to Isildur as "the last king of Gondor"--- when in fact there were some 32 kings in Gondor after Isildur before the line was broken.
I think Jackson did a very intriguing job in depicting Tolkien's LOTR trilogy. Surely some things maybe not have been followed from the book, but Jackson was still able to catch our attentions and fascinate the fans. I thought the Nazgul were pretty well depicted, and it would be extremely difficult to follow all of Tolkien's aspects of LOTR. Jackson gave it his best and he won some Oscars for his abilities, especially in ROTK where it won 11 Oscars. Surely Jackson didn't go wrong at all.
The Nazgul as depicted by Peter Jackson in the movie are ridiculous! Nothing at all the way Tolkien described them! Instead we get guys in pointy black helmets and raggedy cloaks who wheeze alot. And the scene in the movie where Frodo puts on the ring and sees them--that was REALLY bad! They look like cartoon characters out of the Ralph Bashki animated version of LOTR. Of course Jackson played pretty fast-and-loose with the entire Ring trilogy, from the way it is Tolkien's books.
I think that is probably because the books are much more detailed. As much as I enjoyed LORs, I preferred reading the trilogy. I agree that the nazgul could have been better. If anyone wants to scare themselves, seriously, read the books.
To be fair, trying to fully integrate the book into a three/four hours movie is an extreme difficult task. Trying to give exact details from LOTR book is infeasible because it would be enormous and no movies publisher will want to budget it. Remember the movie is an adaptation of the book allowing potential LOTR to get the preview.
They don't have to be the way Tolkien described them. Tolkien isn't making the movie. Fact; "Based on" doesn't mean "Carbon copied". If someone wanted to make a movie Called "Lord of the Rings" from Saurons POV, they could. They might need to wait for it to fall into public domain, of course. Pretty soon it will.
Just to show the wide stupid cinema audience that havent read the books how dangerous a black rider can be, not wery likely that thei would perform that way thou, but who is Peter jackson to have ever care about such noncense :)

wraiths trot into uruk hai camp.... a couple of uruks look at the wraiths, and tap the others on the shoulder.
they start giggling.
wraith looks at them trying to intimidate them, not saying anything.
the lead wraith looks over with his big helmet, looking down from his horse, thinking to himself that he should have brought a dragon instead.
the uruks just stare on laughing.
the wraiths trot by, only revealing to the camera that there's a " kick me! " sign stuck to the wraith's back.
