I cried so hard at this video. Gosh! I'm a 40 year old black man. "Knew of" my father but didn't have any memory of meeting him til I was 29; sadly, at grandma's funeral (his mother). I've spent so many years trying to figure out how does a man leave his children (or a mother?) I know my story, unfortunately, is the proverbial malaise of too many African-American men. I've forgiven my father (and mom for her part) But it still gets hard sometimes. He'll NEVER know what his absence did to me.
