  • who cares who wins ? the people running are hand picked to run they will do what they are told no matter what side they are on ( there is no side). do you really think that someone that is in it for the people of america would ever win? yea right we all know what happens when one of the good guys gets in. jfk ring a bell.

  • Obama breaks his promise to take public funding. Not even the official candidate yet. SO MUCH FOR Obama's "word".

We women have heard his pick up lines before. Just another man lying to women to get what he wants and then walking away even as "the dawn's early light" illuminates his perfidy. Let's be smarter this time!

  • We live in a Republic NOT a Democracy there's a distinct difference between them.

The Founding Fathers of the United States of America were repulsed by Democracy, finding it to be the worst form of government possible.

    goto: teamlaw DOT org

Only he who knows can really see

  • ha finest leaders as long you have you money you can buy your self anything even if it s against the law the idiots of ny state igallay put a turning lane in front of my house becasue someone payed them off my house isnt sopse to be 25 feet from the road now its 15 feet from the road bacuse of the turning lane being put in ilegaly this whole nation is corrupted as long as it doesnt effect politicains theyll do whatever they want to us small popel even breaking there own laws to do so

  • And i stoled myself $12 out of yer sister's chest of drawers after getting all lickered up and onery with her. Bought myself some moonshine.

  • i would vote for him too if i was in az

  • Fantastic show. Watch who stands in the way of this wonderful idea. Guaranteed they have some horse in the race. This show needs to go back to an hour.

  • You mean we can vote to ban our right to free speech and to make meaningful political contributions, help elect fringe candidates, and create a panel of political appointees that can reverse the will of the people whenever they want? California rules!

  • democracy? founding fathers?

thomas jefferson, "democracy is basically mob rule where 51% can take the rights away from the other 49%"

  • It's already over. I'll see you guys in the concentration camps. Later.

  • like jefferson is a good example of clean politics.

paying people to spy, get dirt on adams.

part of the reason adams was a one-term pres.

(btw, before jumping all over this, jefferson renounced his poor conduct wronging adam.. duh, years after the fact)

  • that wasn't my point, jefferson was a founding father who helped establish the "REPUBLIC" of the U.S.A.

the dumbass in the video is ignorant and thinks that america is a democracy and that the founding fathers set it up that way. his dumbass doesn't know that the founding fathers actually warned against a democracy.

  • Yeah.

And the democrats are the ones who dont want voters to have IDS in order to vote.

Gee. I wonder why this is not reported in the mainstream press? Duh duh duh...

  • Republiars want voter ID so they can keep Dems from voting. Voter fraud is not the problem, it's a Republiars myth widely promoted on the news, vote counting is. Voting is a constitutionally protected RIGHT! Read it!

Voting is no longer limited to rich, white men which most Republiars are!

  • Martha,

As a Republican I keep waiting for those checks!!

  • Reagan, If you knew anything about history, you would realize I was referring to the beginning of this democracy when only the landed gentry (all white men) were the only ones who could vote. You Republicans are trying to return to those days.

  • Capt. Stoopid needs ID to buy a big can of beer and rent hisself a stoopid movie. If Capt. Stoopid can't remember to bring his wallet he ain't smart enuff to help select the most powerful man on the planet. And by yer stoopid logic- yer rich enough to get yerself a dang computer so maybe you shouldn't vote.

  • So by "public money" you mean "tax dollars". What happens when 10,000 people run for office?

    Yeah.

    Punk'd, indeed.

  • Whatever brings people together to have inteligent critical conversation seems pretty cool to me! Power to the people!

  • The whole point of democracy is that we elect people to run the country for us; they're our employees. There is absolutely no reason monetary donations should be legal, especially not from corporations, lobby groups, and the like.

  • Well how in the world do expect a candidate to buy advertising time and pay to go talk to yer dumb butt, stoopid?

  • Through a set stipend given to each candidate by the appropriate government in which he/she is running for office; that way the candidate is not 'indebted' to his/her contributors. This might sound cliché but would you learn some grammar yourself before calling another person "stoopid"?

  • Boy, you must got manure for brains. Maybe yer elected officials should be 'indebted' to contributors. That way when you votes fer or supports a feller he acts like a good ol' boy, not Boss Hog as soon as he gets hisself elected. And remember, some old important paper starts with 'We the people," not "Yer stoopid ["appropriate"]government."

  • Ok, the only logical conclusion is that you joined youtube 3 weeks ago purely to annoy people with your idiotic behavior. Basically you're saying that people with more money to give to candidates should have more say in the government. You're saying that politicians should represent those who donate to them not those who vote for them.

  • Yer stoopid.

  • Did they just say "Punk'd" on PBS?

  • Now if only they'd have voting machines that couldn't be tampered with--ones that provide a paper trail for counting....then we might start having a real democracy.

  • Duhhhhh...are you gonna quit yer stoopid 'Diebold voter fraud' stoopidness now that ya Dems finally won?

  • Np. They can still be tampered with. I guess they're holding out for the presidential election, like last time.

  • This is great. Another plus to this idea is that it will be terribly obvious when big business tries to buy people into office. This really makes it possible for most anyone to run for president, even you! Now that's Democracy!

  • Exit,

I ran for the state house in my home state, corporate contributions are illegal there is no way to legally get business money into your campaign.

  • It would never work in Minnesota with the extremely liberal Star Tribune newspaper which is nothing more than a propaganda machine for Democrats. I could see this working if you had equal time in the press but that's not going to happen. The media has a huge influence on people and if they're not on your side there is little to no help for you to get your message out with the same effectiveness as the person the media is supporting.

  • so the government funds the peoples candidates,

    it sounds more fair.

  • Cool

  • Great view!

  • I have never heard of "clean campagins" until now, but I support it wholeheartedly. Having (and spending) more money does not mean you are going to a better leader. I definately be watching this program on the 20th.

  • I believe that publicly financed elections a paper trail for the votes and a constitutional amendment to make voting a civil right.

  • We have it now in Maine and it's working. Looks like there is a viable alternative to the corrupted process and I fervently hope that it's not too little to late to save American democracy itself.

  • How do they do it in Maine?

  • We absolutely MUST change the way we fund our campaigns. The current system is not democratic.
