if the containment fails for any reason the entire state of California would have been obliterated, They're idiots, have we developed some materials I don't know about that can sustain the heat of a fusion reaction? Are they super cooling? Ummm... why is this project not in Alaska, California is a very hot state you want to keep a nuclear heat contained in this place that would be desert if not for the Bay? Lunacy.

Learn to read doublenaught spy.. Prof. Moses lecture is initial as the title so obviously states. By the way in case you don't know...LASER stands for Light Amplification of Stimulated Emissions of

Radiation. So how would it have anything to do with "inertial" ?! Hmmmm???

How electric cars promote better human health? You can say it improves the air quality but health?

Why not using bicycles? That REALLY improves the human health. Less obesity, less heart problems. It also partially solves the inner city congestion where elecctric cars won't.

yea by improving the air quality you improve human health. You're super american maybe that's why its hard for you to understand.. Go live in Beijing for a month, and you will see what I mean. They're still trying to find out what the long term effects are in beijing for exposure to such high levels of pollution. and yes I've traveled around China believe it or not Beijing was considered clean when I got there, and my snot was black by the end of the wk being there. not fun :( >:\

I live in the US you moron. You're fragmenting an issue and presenting as a complete argument. That's a fallacy. It isn't witty, and anyone with some intelligence can easily sniff it out.Obesity certainly is a health issue,but seeing that you haven't been to any very well polluted, or unsanitary places.There is in fact reasons why clean air is linked to better health. clean air doesn't fix obesity but clean air keeps your cardio vascular system quite healthy/ therefore promotes health

soylentgreenb, Yep the storage problem needs to be overcome, overcome the battorie problem and every car ( there are already electric motorcycles ) can become electric over day. Off the top of my head the first problem that comes to mind is the cold ( then of course that can be overcome by warming the battories with the energy from the engine ).

Yes 50 years is to long to wait for an alternative fuel. Clean energy is the most inportant challenge for mankind. With technology like this you get a clean planet and can hear your self think ( that wont stop kids puting clackers on there car wheels). Fixes the middle east and probably canser.

It has already been largely solved but people are desperate to ignore nuclear fission and support the useless paleotechnologies like wind and solar that doom us to burn dangerous fossil fuels and dump the waste directly into the atmosphere for the next 50 years while we work on fusion.

What remains to solve is essentially energy storage for vehicles(zinc-air, lithium-air and lead-carbon seem promising so far. LiFePO4, lead-acid and NiMH and fuel cells are all problematic for various reasons).

most developed countries use nuclear fusion for energy, or hydroelectricity... I dunno exactly, but some use fossil fuels, but not to the extent of the US. I'm in OK, and this state uses coal for electricity while all of its neighboring states use nuclear fusion.
