@561sage well, my point is that it wasn't all skill and even if it was - the size definitely helped. there wasn't a huge skill gap between them, but when it came down to it, the physical advantages gave the upper hand. fedor was expected to win, because he's mostly always the smaller fighter and pulls off wins. and getting back to serra - he is not that good, I don't know whether it's because he's so small, but he comes up short mostly

it's not about what his opponents records are, it's about the skills he poses. Not only does he have more skill than any fighter in MMA ever, but he has more mental strength than any other. Zulu never beat anyone, Mark Coleman was 40 years old and out of his prime, Matt Linland isn't really a Heavyweight and he's not great to begin with, Hong Man Choi is way too slow and really hasn't beat anyone in MMA, Brett Rogers only has 1 Notable Career win and he took it to Fedor.

Call me a traditionalist, but he just lost, thus he can't be a "no. 1 fighter." He has to be second or lower. I know that is silly, however, because there really isn't a true ladder ranking in MMA. They book whoever turns a profit and justify it however they want to. He's a world class talent, sure, but labeling these guys with numbers is and arbitrary. He would drop maybe one rung closer to the competition, but the competition is 5 laps behind him in the race, so instead of being 5 laps ahead he tripped, and is now 4 laps ahead. If number one ranked football team "A" looses 1 game, and the next team behind them "B" has lost 3 games, "A" still stays at number 1

@561sage well, my point is that it wasn't all skill and even if it was - the size definitely helped. there wasn't a huge skill gap between them, but when it came down to it, the physical advantages gave the upper hand. fedor was expected to win, because he's mostly always the smaller fighter and pulls off wins. and getting back to serra - he is not that good, I don't know whether it's because he's so small, but he comes up short mostly

Call me a traditionalist, but he just lost, thus he can't be a "no. 1 fighter." He has to be second or lower. I know that is silly, however, because there really isn't a true ladder ranking in MMA. They book whoever turns a profit and justify it however they want to. He's a world class talent, sure, but labeling these guys with numbers is and arbitrary. Until MMA is one entity with one champion and one set of rankings, arguing who's best is stupid. Current champ > anyone. That's all you have.

He would drop maybe one rung closer to the competition, but the competition is 5 laps behind him in the race, so instead of being 5 laps ahead he tripped, and is now 4 laps ahead. If number one ranked football team "A" looses 1 game, and the next team behind them "B" has lost 3 games, "A" still stays at number 1

@SeNs3NoEviL since when were pride or affliction second rate? i don't remember anyone they fedor has fought being cut from ufc. right now ufc is probably overall the best, but dream, strikeforce, and a few other promotions have top fighters. if andrei arlovski and tim sylvia are on ones to you, i'd like to know who you think is someone. it is possible that fedor isn't the best anymore, but his overall career speaks for itself. until he's beaten, he will be #1 til he retires.

@liverpoolcCU People that are some ones are Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin, Cain Velasquez, and Frank Mir. Fedor hasnt fought a great fighter in nearly five years. Until he mans up and fights in the ufc hes not the number 1 fighter

@SeNs3NoEviL ok, i get ya. the ufc is the only promotion that has any good fighters. all of the other promotions are 3rd rate. at least now i know i'm talking to someone who has no clue about mma. the 4 you mentioned are great fighters, but i can name plenty that are on their level: fedor, aleksander emilianenko, rogers, overeem, arlovski, barnett, etc. there are other fighters outside the ufc that are good. you are just a fanboy.
