Also note, FDR also ordered ambassador Hull (to Japan) to NOT accept any compromises or make ANY agreements with the Japanese. It was very similar to what Lincoln done to the peace delegation from South Carolina, right before South Carolina was forced to fire on Fort Sumter. FDR learned well from Lincoln on how to start a war.

I've taken college courses on this and the professors were in agreement on that. Calvin Coolidge helped initiate the depression by allowing corporations to continue to produce when there wasn't a demand big enough to support the supply. I've taken college courses on this and the professors were in agreement on that. Calvin Coolidge helped initiate the depression by allowing corporations to continue to produce when there wasn't a demand big enough to support the supply. @elzakrasz Bullshit. Taxes are skyhigh. Back when they were 77%, their were more loopholes than now. Corporations have to pay about 60% in total taxes, and the Owners/CEO's, about 55% of their income (including all taxes). No wonder they go to China. The "working class" does fine until the govt gets involved. If the workers want a better life, let them innovate and own their own buisness. The best thing we can do for those who are poor, is stay out of their way, forcing them to improve.

Of the following rights, which ones were given to us by corporations? Minimum wage, social security, fair labor standards, the eight hour day, overtime, workplace safety, an end to child labor, paid vacations, maternity leave, etc. etc. etc.
The answer is zero.

Now corporations have an escape to China, and I cannot blame them. They dont want to stay here and give away half their earnings to the goverment. Also, we didnt have the ethnic populace then that we do now, so not as much of a welfare problem.
