I got a newer one that's newer than these and it looks alot like an alienware and that's what I think asus tried to do. It runs a NVIDEA graphics card and I forget the RAM capacity but it's fast, powerful, and better than mac. PC FTW!!!!

the 9800m produces better graphics than the 4650, so i recomend the Asus in this case, but if you want to play with higher resolution/ a larger screen go with the hp

Asus got much better gaming pc's than HP. The asus got 1billion better warranty than HP. U dont need 500GB harddive. Ifi where yo i would have w8 a year. Soon there is a harddrive that doesnt make heat. I would have w8d. But if i had to choose. The Asus is better. 9800 graphs is better than ATI 4650

there is barely even that much of a difference between the mobile GTX 260 and the GTX 280.

I read about them all the time, and im stunned that the benchmarks on a single 280 mobile is hardly better.

the point is the g200 mobile chips are one of if not the best mobile chip out. my main point was simply that in the m17 you can have 2 gtx280m instead of most lappys only having 1. which means you can use sli for better gaming performance.(usually)

The 4870 Crossfire in this Asus W90VP also has record shattering results. 15,000 3dmark score. It's also A LOT cheaper then the GTX280 SLI notebooks.

I respect the Nvidia, i just wish they would do something about there pricing.

the only problem i have with that is that benchmarks arent 'real world' and the only way to get a 'true' performance read is to test the actual setup in the games or programs you will be using on it. though i must say i dont really follow ati/amd i dont know why, i guess i just havent had reason to leave nvidia yet.

I have a 7811FX notebook with the 9800GTS and that thing is like a heater. I can't live with that no more. I mean its fine when im gaming but it heats up my room faster then my heater :)

Im really waiting for ATI 4860/4890 it is suppose to be only 40nm so if its small and cool that will be win for overclock.

But yeah you are right in a way especially game like GTA4 and Especially Crysis which seem to be more optimized for Nvidia.

Look at ATI though more choices are always better.

didnt the 4890 come out already or was that th x2 version. 40nm means it will run cooler on less wattage but doesnt say much for ocing unless its high quality even then you can only push a card so far.

ya beching is ok to get a sense for the hardware but it wont tell you much in regard to how games will play.

as for watching ati i'm actually waiting for th gt300 line to come out, cant wait to see the rumored 210% perf boost XD

what worries me about the gt300 though is 1:they're claiming some pretty big boosts and 2:the price might be too high for the quality/performance i.e. 8800gtx/Ultra

How is Asus as far as gaming performance goes.. I was told to stay away from any Asus systems because of bad performance as far as a gaming machine. I'm looking to get a gaming laptop and Asus has some that are in the mid range as far as features. I don't have a big amount to spend so something around $1000 price range would be awesome. Although I have heard of notebooks that will be coming out with a second display built in. His reaction was priceless though.
