@TheDmanskate First of all you'll need a jailbroken iDevice with AppSync installed on cydia. download this program: tinyurl(dot)com/843trhw

follow the tutorial, but instead of unpacking the ziped file edit it from within the zip file with a zip editor like winRAR (which you probably already have). Edit the info.plist file in the program you downloaded (plist editor). Follow the tutorial. Then you just open the ipa file in itunes and copy it to your iDevice.(again: jailbroken iDevice needed)

im a little apprehensive about jail braking my iphone 3gs because, can you even restore it if you dont like it ? and 2 doesnt it sometimes crash and shutdown and never start back up. answers would be appreciated

Wouldn't you have to recompile for this to work. You deleted your changes when you deleted the folder. Renaming the zip back to ipa is just back to your original file.
