i lived right down the street from where that scene was shot, that scene was shot on north ave and talman. i was could see the cameras from the the front of my house. of my old house, oh and it was a good movie.
The scene that is here can be seen in it's full glory on the DVD it will have scenes that are the directors chice scenes. The movie had to be shortened for time.
Yuppies are like gangbangers.. they rob you of your home and buisness, they make it too high risk to stay in your neighborhood (taxes) and they do it and dont give a fuck. (gentrification).. But im pretty sure the Latin Kings would win against them.. I just hope that this movie shows that yuppies arent Humboldt, they destroy it
i know im sooooo freaking excited to see this! one of the girls in the movie just moved in my building we live across from the park so im totally excited!!! i hope i get to meet the cast...doubtful but a girl can dream lol
they keep shooting scenes at the california clipper which is a yupee bar. what about the mom and pop store's which all got history. typical hollywood let's see how accurate they are when the movie come's out
Awe, C'mon... If we stopped selling out we would still have the neighborhood. The Yupees are there, it's like that. The Clipper is part of Humboldt park, until the area is re-named the names and the patrons of the local businesses are still in Humboldt park. What mom and pop shop do you know in Humboldt park that looks like the Clipper? Not to mention that we latins go there too. It's part of the hood, whats left of it. It's not Hollywood, it's gentrification.
Yes, the people of Humboldt park have a sterio type. If you knew some of them you will see that not everyone is in a gang. This problem can be found across the globe. So, is your comment a well thought out expression or just a direct attack against the people in Humboldt park. If the area and people were so bad why is everyone else looking to move in? Grow up, are you the only one that lives in a perfect world?
