@newtonsbed While I'd normally agree with your sentiment, JeterScott has a good point. NV's approach isn't that different from the careers of Sinatra, Fitzgerald and other "legends"; in fact, the songs they covered rarely strayed far from their original genres. NV at least introduces ppl to songs that they may not otherwise enjoy in their original format. Seems like their goal is less about originality than it is about simple entertainment. Which is why all their singers are gorgeous ladies.

It's different, but I still prefer the original by Public Image Ltd. Does this band do anything more than cover other peoples songs? If not they must be a pretty boring group musically, as necessity can't play any part in it. It's just karaoke with a backing band.

@newtonsbed I think they do pretty well in covering and talent does not mean creativity. I always get shivers when I hear a great voice singing no matter if own creation or not. i understand your point also but it's what and how you deliver not what you create, like everything else in life :)

@newtonsbed Writing the words or music down on paper is not the only artistry involved in music. Arrangement and performance are creative as well.  Arranging New Wave and Punk songs as Bosso Nova and then rendering them well is something of an achievement.

@JeterScott I could accept that if there were one or two cover songs on an album of new material, yes. To be known for nothing but cover versions however, shows a lack of inspiration to be a complete "band", and is just plain lazy and an easy way out.
