Totally agree! I drive buses and was stuck in the middle of it! Every time this sort of thing happens, 2 hours of unpaid time are added to my day. Then there's paperwork for lost mileage and forms to fill in at home if the bus is damaged (which has been the case in the past - someone broke the grille off the radiator to use as a riot shield! I'm totally with you on this one, Rob. I was stuck driving in a bus at the level, in the middle of all this. My mate in the bus in front video'd it (kaptainklutz1102 on youtube). It was quite frightening and my passengers were quite intimidated. We are meant to tell them to close the windows and stay on the bus.... scary stuff. Aside from that, it costs a lot of money and negates the purpose of the protest. This added 2 hours to my day, unpaid. You're not alone :o)

This was a demonstration against a company that produces bombs for use in wars around the world - EDO. Therefore the owners of that factory are guilty of murder! I can't think of a better reason for protesting.

Will 'Smash EDO' be demonstrating their social responsibility by offering to pay for the damage done to Brighton businesses like Brighton Pier (where lights were smashed). You caused struggling local businesses to lose trade on a Bank Holiday in the middle of a recession. You could have achieved your aim without a protest of that nature. Let the failure of those local businesses and the local economy be on your hands.
