WOW! What a POWERFUL video...Thanks John, for sharing this AMAZING video with me! And thank YOU, Stephanie, for posting this Heart-Wrenching, but truly TOUCHING, work of art!
Thank you for a wonderful video. It truly brought tears to my eyes. I have a nephew on his 3rd tour to Iraq and, God willing, will be home for good in March. What a wonderful tribute to all our troops and our country.
I wish someone could have made this vid. in 68-69 after Tet. It has real meaning and feeling (although I liked Merrilee Rushes version just a little better) But vid. is very moving. Thanks
My stepson (my son for all intent) is on his 2nd tour. He's an Army EOD guy and I am scared for him. It's true the Iraqis have pretty much taken over (according to his emails). I'm a Vietnam vet and this is really tough, seeing him go again. Pray for these young men. They deserve all we can do for them. They especially deserve out respect.
40 years ago I listened to the Old Soldiers tell their stories and tried to understand. Today I listen to the Young Soldiers and understand all too well. You have set that to music, and thank you for it.
God is good to make America to be the most powerful country so to help the world that needed their support when evil leaders take advantage of their powers to destroy mankind like hitler, sadamm and alike..thank so much for our troops who had sacrifices everything so we can have our freedom...and not to live in fear.
I am an Australian. I was deeply touched by this Video, I watched 911 happen live, late one night in Australia and feel for not only our' boys' but ever countries soldiers, trying to give us a safe, peaceful existence.
This video touched me,i'm not american i'm welsh and my brother is in afghanistan at the moment,i felt your video portrayed a fitting tribute to the young men and women risking their lives, aswell as portraying the futillity of war,for the sake of my brother and all the american, brittish, canadian, european and middle eastern peoples,i pray for a peaceful conclusion soon.
Excellent video. Shows how it has been going for us and not underming us at the same time. Thank you for the support and thanks for the support of others like you.
omg, what a beautiful tribute and you are absolutely right whatever some may feel about the war those men and women definitely deserve our support and upmost respect. Powerful pictures where did you find them
Merrilee Rush and the Turnabouts had the original hit... and for my money... it's still the best... much more haunting than the other versions. I wish it was still on Youtube... but they've taken it off.
Oh absolutely, the original Merrilee Rush version is very haunting. Given the context of the times when it was first recorded, and the little military style snare drum, just makes it more haunting and powerful. For me at least.
i've been touched, so touched that your vid made me cry, it did. I may not be an american, but i am so proud of what your troops are doing elsewhere in the world to help achieve "PEACE" again. thnx for sharing this great vid......proud of you too!

Regardless of how one feels about the troops and the war the pictures don't match the song.
