  • so i got it now why some disciplines cant be displayed in the ring like the philippine's kali. what u can watch here are demos. what i like about this guy is he doesnt say "oh muay is this, ours is better blah! blah! blah!...". he agrees to the similarities.

  • interesting guy...

  • Antonio: Question for you: 1)How was the Malaysian cuisine? to your liking? 2)who would win in a fight: Daredevil or Batman?

  • @momobena i had trouble finding a healthy diet of vegetables, fruit and meat. in malaysia, like most of asia, people eat a lot of rice and the indian vegetables are soaked in oil, completely devoid of nutrition. significant quantities of meet were not common. Batman.

  • good video

    thanks

  • oooh, i like that first elbow that he did. I bet if u used that in a fight, ur opponent would NOT see that comin. Heh heh, got another technique in my arsenal now ^_^

  • i was one of his student long time ago learning silat.now i have my own muay thai gym in kl IMPACT muay thai gym.next time call me i am dennis by the way from france.hope to get some news from u and maybe help u in ur training.cheers

  • Hey BrooklynMonk -- thanks for this. We've got a free-thinking Judo/Krav Maga-RBSD/Grappling/Striking training group down here in Indonesia. One of the guys is documenting traditional silat. My question was - why didn't Muay Thai reach island southeast Asia. This shows the link between MT & Silat. Some of Kru Jak's moves are very similar to sequences we've seen in traditional Betawi (Jakarta's indigenous ethnic group) silat down here. Sent the link to my buddy.

  • man i was in selangor 5 months ago i can practically smell it and feel the heat just from the sounds of the street

i love how he calls his teacher my old man

  • GREAT!

  • Another great video. I love Kru Jak's smile while he is training. It shows his love for the art.

  • Yeah kru jak is really a special guy. when i go back to malaysia i will try and live in the same neighborhood so i can train with him a lot.

  • There's a hotel just 10 minutes walk away from the studio :o) It is clean and has sports facilities, gym, swimming pool, etc. About RM80-100 a night.

  • that sounds good but i rented a room in an apartment next to the gym for $100 USD for one week. so even cheeaper.
