  • Wow, I find it really lame that competitors criticize Apple for not having copy and paste for a year or so and then they completely rip off their UI when they come up with an elegant solution (and text selection in general). There is no way they could have came out with this UI as quickly as they did without copying Apple's solution (it's literally a direct copy). This is a perfect example of why software patents are a good idea. To prevent ripoffs of legitimate software ideas like this.

  • @sackypack

well this idea is a good one certainly.. but its not that special or unique.. i mean inventing arrow selectors for selecting text is not all that brilliant, is it?

and the "rip-off" actions as you call it happen all the time.. just think about what apple "rips-off" from microsoft and also the other way round.. thats perfectly normal and legitimate.. why? because it serves you as a user with more competition = better pricing = no monopoly!

  • @motomansm SnapDragon my friend. Google it.

  • When you're actually using it as a phone without the earphone, your ear gets rubbed against the screen, does it affect the screen ? not sure what is the feature to deactivate the screen when it's on phone mode. I know iPhone is really good at that particular feature.

My other HTC (Touch Pro 2) is really a piece of junk, when you use it as a phone, the screen gets rubbed by my ear and by accident, the end call button gets pressed.

  • @bluezinc17 I'm still debating whether to get the Desire or wait and see what Android phones come out that look like the iPhone 4 (seriously good looking bit of hardware) but the specs say there's a proximity detector that shuts down the screen when it's up to your ear. That should eliminate the ear-press.

How that works in practice I don't know, hopefully one of the many Desire users will comment on that - but in theory at least it should not be a problem.

  • nice video

  • Nice kit. If they're going to use a series of dick names they should call the next one The Bowstaff because then at least people will be meant to snigger.

  • there are a lot of features stealed from iphone XD

  • can't wait till tuesday... the i get me DESIRE!!

  • me wants.

  • This guy sounds like Steve-O from Jackass.

  • when does the desire come out?

  • Still waiting for my desire! COME HOME TO ME!! :)

  • i am getting this, iPhone u suck :D

  • witch phone is better iphone 3 gs or desire?!? ofcourse desire! 1ghz procesor revolution of network games everything in one phone and totaly big screen! i lowe phones like that HTC evo 4g and desire is revolution of phones legend is not bad to but not like evo or desire those phones are awsome expecialy desire!

  • this mobile is just a revolution, i still cant believe it, it has everything i always wanted

  • Eenbox, why dont you google the specs? yes its a snapdragon, HD2 will always suck, the hardware is amazing, the OS is 'amazing' to, amazingly bad.

  • 00:56 Turrets F F F!

  • I hate the way he says "htc desire..." instead of "THE htc desire" like it's a person.

  • lol, the translation sucks ^^

    but the phone is cool

  • This dude is an idiot

  • not a great review tbh....

  • I really wanted the iPhone BAD, even though it clearly has its limitations about what apple lets you do with it. Anyway, I really was ready to put all those franklins on the table.

But then I discovered THIS and was thrilled to find out that the android app store isn't significantly inferior and has great apps as well!

So Apple, keep your incredibly overpriced restrictive shit! I'm gonna get me this baby here instead!

  • Yay!! I'm so bying it :]]

  • thatoto - yes, it does. i love the hd2 weather skin too :)

  • Desire is gonna be a veeeery good phone! Better than Google Nexus One, and even better than iPhone 3GS.

  • im not sure but i think it might be similiar to a nexus two

  • perhaps, but a Nexus Two will probably be better cuz we haven't heard about that phone yet :)

  • i cant wait for any type of nexus to come to verizon which im stuck on

  • @bignade00, I agree that the iPhone was a real revolution, but there are better phones out there today. iPhone sat a new standard for mobile phones! and that's a fact. If iPhone didn't came, there would perhaps not be any touch phones!

  • touch phones were around BEFORE the iphone.

  • I('m gay)Phone

  • @oOJakkeOo that's definitely not true, there would be plenty of touch phones out there.

  • and its strange that a lot of people bash the iPhone and yet expect iPhone like functions on other touchscreen phones like multi-touch.....

  • Hey guys... do you know if the Sense UI on the Android 2.1 offers the live Weather Wallpaper on the Desire? It looked kinda cool on HTC HD2 but I'd prefer it on a Android :)

  • I have the desire to get the Desire.

  • @genestarwindjf80 And I'm getting it : D !

  • Desire > xperia 10> nexus one.. I'm getting the Desire!! It's googles fault for not bringing the nexus to Australia.. Fukking Ass-hats

  • Ordered it today. A month from now I hopefully have my hands on it.

  • I want this phone badly!!!

  • okay htc desire, htc legend or google nexus one whats the best?

  • legend has only a 600 Mhz the others have 1GHZ, id go for a desire, basically ita a nexus with sense

  • for now the new desire sounds like the best... with Sense...

  • @PoeticParkour The Desire has the biggest screen, the Legend is the most rugged, since it is a solid block of aluminum, and the Nexus is plain Android 2.1 without HTC's Sense UI added on. But personally, I would recomend the Desire.

  • HTC Legend - cheper, aluminium unibody, neat design, a bit smaller than the rest

HTC Desire - big screen, fast processor, good resolution

Nexus One - same as Desire, but with slighty different design, trackball instead of optical pad, speech-to-text, no FM radio, secong microphone for backgroung noise reduction, vanilla version of Android (without Sense UI), a little bit pricey than desire.

    I'd go for the Desire.

  • WOW! I hope to God this comes to TMobile USA! I'll pay full price for this mother!

  • @batsnest fuck THomo come to Sprint baby!

  • lol I would but ive been screwed by Sprint one too many times! ;P

  • tmobile usa only gets phones that are slow and stripped of ram. Maybe you can get that new fender mytouch 3g!
