Spinnerette is very well written music and it shows she's a true artist, willing to evolve and not just stick to one genre of music. Some people are just to clung onto the Distillers to see that, and that's their loss.
Brody is amazing now, and she was amazing then. I'm sure her interests changed just like anyone else's would, so if she wants to try another genre of music, then she's trying another genre of music. You can't expect any artist to stick to one thing their entire career. If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

While I am not a big fan of Spinnerette, I have to respect her decision to change her style. She did say she wanted to branch out with her music and the things she wanted were not appropriate for The Distillers. Just because you're a Distillers fan, doesn't mean you can't respect Brody's decision to make different music.

For people who say she sounds better singing with The Distillers I've seen her live at a festival when this album came out and her voice fucking blew everyone else out of the water. She's got powerful lungs on her, she's a genuine talent and I'm glad she's learned how to use her voice instead of ruining it by just screaming the whole time.
and as for my opinion that nobody cares about, it doesn't matter what brody does. she is still amazing. she simply took a more mature path for spinnerette compaired to the distillers. that's all. she could rap and i'm sure she would still be just as loved. just saying. :]

My favourite distillers album is sing sing death house, but still like the spinnerette's album better than coral fang. She's a great musician, she knows melody matters, no matter how punk/hardcore/rock you are...She's evolving, like everybody does, if you don't you are not following life's timing ;)
