  • Great informative video. You offer good advise and suggestions on this footage. My only concern is that I see way too many people getting into this hobby solely to breed and make money. I always hear people buying snakes for "PROJECTS". Aren't we all in this hobby for the love of these beautiful creatures? Don't we already have enough reputable breeders? We all need to treat these animals like pets and offer proper care first, before anything else.

  • @kid007inplay Thanks! I do agree that there are a lot of people in this for the money aspect, which is wrong. I have enjoyed keeping herps for over a decade now... and could care less if I made money on them or not. However, as a business I need to make some kind of money to keep things going! That is where the line is drawn, The money I get fuels the business, not my pockets! The people who do it for lining pockets are in the wrong, IMO.

  • Do you think that a Normal Female is important breeding wise? I think having a few normal females in your clutch can help you. I want to pick up at least 2-3 normal females to help me with breeding!

  • @ILUVREPTILES1 I think normals are pretty important, for proving things out, and for making more single gene co-doms. I always have one normal minimum here, but I never breed her to anything insane.. lol

  • Great Video! Question since some of the single gene morphs are common. Would you reccomend getting into single, double or triple gene morphs?

  • @ILUVREPTILES1 Most single genes are very inexpensive, so, depending on what you want to produce, looking to get multi gene morphs may be a good idea!

  • i'm more into my big snakes but next year i think i'll get into ball pythons, i'll start witha female bumblebee and maybe another female, and the year after get some sort of cool male like an enchi yellowbee or something like that, i reckon since the females take longer to get to breeding size its better to start with them and then get the males the following year.

  • @snakeboi1994 Very good point! LOL! You can't go wrong with Bees, and Enchis!

  • i could be wrong but you didnt mention anything about quality. i think thats why my stuff will sell once im finally producing. my females are all the best example of the morph i could find and i searched along time for each and every one.. never buy the first one you see!!(without looking at more anyways)

  • @lipresin420 Very good point. I do believe I skipped that subject. Quality is important, and getting the nicest examples of the morphs are important as well! However, some of my "not so nice looking" females, have thrown INSANE offspring. lol

  • Also is your ball python room a closet it seems like and awfully small room.

  • @WTZReptiles AHAHA... not, its just part of my snake room. It is a 10 x 12 room that I have packed with reptiles! It is a bit cramped!

  • Great advice i am going to change all my het females i was going to get to breed to my het males with codom female het for something and breed them to the het males.

  • @WTZReptiles It is a better route! I have a lot of plain hets here, that I am praying prove out, if not... PEACE! LOL! I'll get the visuals later! HAHA!

  • @JandDReptiles

Yeah i was going to go with just normal hets for pied, albino, axanthic, and ghost but getting things like pastel het for something bred to a male het will get me want i want faster. Basically saving me 5 years of breeding. Oh and i am excited i have a really big female bp that a friend gave me that i thought was to old to breed but she is breeding with my male pastel right now. Hoping to get some nice looking pastels. She is like 3000 grams very big bp.

  • Great advice and information Jeremy and I'm sure this video will be VERY helpful to many people !!!

  • @1softkiss Thanks! :)

  • great vid, im glad your helping people out cause ive mentioned before also you have to have a goal of what you expect rather than doing something on the fly. Proper planning-SHow can you start a race if you cant imagine the finish line!

  • I just bought a pinstripe to breed with my bumblebee, I can't wait. Although now I kind of regret buying just a pinstripe, I should have gotten a lemonblast and made some killer bees and what not.

  • @jstrongman98 True, but you can still make some good stuff.
