I know what you mean but personally, I used to love the taste of KFC chicken back in the late 70s and throughout the 80s. But after that their recipe(s) really started drifting away / changing from what made it great.

The slimy, grease-laden shit that I see served in KFC nowadays is not a patch on their recipes from times past.

The times I've been to Asia and particularly in China, I was surprised by the menus they had in places like KFC, Pizza Hut or McDonald's. They usually have a great variety of dishes, plus variations to these dishes and it's not uncommon to see things like General Tso's KFC or fried abalone croquet at these establishments.

Also, the desserts are freaking delicious.

I don't really get why they have large menus, but I don't complain and I actually wish they had this variety back home.
