Why would you do a bass clinic where you play the bass like a guitar? My guess is to engage the audience, but if the audience doesnt care, why do a clinic lol. The fundamental role of any bass, be it electric, upright, tuba, etc. in a band setting is to play the bass line. How do I move a bass line around those chord changes? I don't really care if the bass player can play lead or not. Bass guitar is turning into a wanker's instrument. Oh well
@borshteater Some people just like to explore the sonic possibilities others are content with the supportive role of the instrument and Ed F is a no BS damn fine bass Player who can cover all styles ,I don't call what he does as wankin'. I don't see your point here, you're just wafflling .
@borshteater he's playing it like a stringed instrument. ANY string instrument can "wank." And is he in a band setting? No. This is not an example of what to do in a band setting. It is showing what can be accomplished through the 4 string bass guitar.
Ed, youve made a huge fan outta me. Dude, for the past three weeks, ive been stove up in the house due to a car accident and I have watched alot of your vids. Thanks for makin it a little easier to be in the house.
To think there are people who dare to insinuate that solo bass is some kind of freakish, unmusical waste of time. They ignorantly assert that bass belongs 'in the pocket' and nowhere else.
Exhibitions like this put that thinking to absolute shame. Fantastic display Ed, and thanks for posting shonuff.
Ed, I have become a big fan over the past many months. You are a great communicator and educator.... not to mention a smoking bassist and well rounded and well versed musician.
Great technic wish to play at that level in a few years.....lol

Can you slap on a guitar? If so, post some videos of you doing so. Good luck!
