Extremely close fight actually, and I wasn't surprised by Bisping. I always knew MB was a very good fighter - look at his record! This could have been scored a draw easily. I've watched it 3 times closely and would have to say = CS won RND 1 by a very slim margin (could also be called a DRAW round); MB won the 2nd by a slim margin; and CS won the 3rd FOR SURE. mixedmartialartsDoTcoM also had CS winning the fight.
Bisping and Sonnen, I.M.O are two of the best fighters in the world, either could beat Silva, if they fight smart, they are both here to stay at the very top in the world.

@Ninety9Soulz It was a close fight. Really, it could have gone either way, in my opinion it should have gone to Bisping but what do I know? I don't have any idea how the UFC judges judge their matches (unlike boxing, I know how boxing matches are supposed to be judged).
I think a big point that should be taken away from this is that Sonnen didn't control Bisping for much of the fight, or the fight itself. Bisping took Sonnen down, and Sonnen is supposed to be a great wrestler.

Whoever is ranked higher entering the fight should get the equivalent of a win by judges decision. That would mean that the challenger would have to really come at you, and actually finish you to take your spot.

I would have given the last round to Bisping. Sonnen tok him down, took his back - and didn't do anything. He only landed one good punch. Then Bisping took him down at the end and landed a good elbow (which in my eyes would count as stealing the round).

Go look it up man the numbers don't lie, I can't believe people are arguing against the facts. The stats say he won, the judges say he won, it's marked as a win for Sonnen, it ends there.

He got the mount, took the back - but didn't take control. He was being controlled from the bottom. Bisping even went for a submission.

@57worldwide I have to watch it again but I remember around the beginning of round 1 he landed some good ones standing up, when he took him down near the cage he landed 2-3 REAL clear ones, in round 2 like 20 seconds or so after he broke his guard, and at the end of round 2, but most of round 2 I'd say Bisping owned it. But in round 3 Sonnen got his back, and got a full mount. Sure he didn't hurt him much there, but Bisping didn't either when he held him against the cage.Close fight

@Ninety9Soulz It was a close fight. Really, it could have gone either way, in my opinion it should have gone to Bisping but what do I know? I don't have any idea how the UFC judges judge their matches (unlike boxing, I know how boxing matches are supposed to be judged).
I think a big point that should be taken away from this is that Sonnen didn't control Bisping for much of the fight, or the fight itself. Bisping took Sonnen down, and Sonnen is supposed to be a great wrestler.

@57worldwide I think the first round definitely went to Bisping. It was pretty close, but he landed some pretty good shots standing and was able to negate the wrestling. 2nd round was basically even. The 3rd round however was dominated by Sonnen. I think Sonnen was more dominant in the 3rd than Bisping was in the first, and I agree with the decision. However, it definitely could've gone either way. I would've hated to be a judge for that one. I like the Sonnen v.s. Silva rematch tho

Whoever is ranked higher entering the fight should get the equivalent of a win by judges decision. That would mean that the challenger would have to really come at you, and actually finish you to take your spot.
