Hi Dr.Shulz I purchased the shiseido face sunscreen spf 55 do you think that one is not a very good one? Its really confusing and i just want to protect my face from the sun but when i have no help its really hard to buy the correct product that will help my skin!
now i had a feeling about those new high spf sunscreens. i just felt like they werent telling us something about it or that it was one of those pointless new products.
@ValerieEileen try vanicream sunscreen spf 30 sensitive skin. i use it and it has pretty much no smell at all. it's a chemical free sunscreen and its oil free, has no fragrance, dyes, preservatives, or parabens. it has uva and uvb protection. i thinks its one of the best sunscreens out there:)
Thank you, Dr. Schultz. This was actually a question I had posted. I have an SPF 30 at home which I'm very happy with and now I know that I don't need to invest in a (ridiculously expensive) 110 SPF. I had no idea I'm getting 95% protection with my current one, but that's great - so I'm gonna stick with this. THANKS SO MUCH!
Thank you so much! I have been watching your videos for a very long time. I really appreciate all the information you have shared with us. Of course, like any reasonable person, I double check the information, but you have been very informative. Again, thank you.
what about allergies to sunscreen... i get red itchy spots when i use sunscreen and i tried Nutragena and Coppertone so far... scared to try other brands because it take a day or two to get rid of the itchiness.... same with lipsticks and gloss w/ spf... my lips become puffy and swollen itchy
I was wondering if you put sunscreen in the morning but stay inside for couple hours and then you go outside in the sun. Do you still have to reapply your sunscreen? or is it good. thanks.
@Mahigak Yes, you still have to reapply it. It's a pain because it means taling off your makeup and doing everything all over again, but it's worth it.
Even if you put sunscreen on and sit in an office for hours, it will not be anywhere near as effective as it would be if you freshly applied it.
Dr, what do you think of the once a day suncreams such as "Ultrasun" a Swiss brand? I have been using this for the last couple of months since buying on QVC and it seems great. Thanks
Wow this is great to know! I didn't even know there were sunscreens with spf that high. I burn so easily, so I try to find things with at least SPF 30. My latest sunscreen is SPF 45, which has worked well for me so far. =)
I'm planning to get fraxel laser or Pearl laser for minor acne scars. Which do you recommend? I do not have sever acne scars, however I do have a few icepick scars on my cheeks. Please advice!
Bought that ultra sheer SPF 80 made by Neutrogena, and that shit is too hard to put on anyway. It doesn't go on smoothly at all. Anyone know what sunscreen is very light, not greasy, and goes on smoothly like moisturizer?
@MaicoMoon Your best bet is going to be something with an SPF of between 15 and 30. Anything higher and the consistency is too thick. Hope that helps.
Excellent advice! I always find that it's all about money in the cosmetics industry so they try to sell us anything...including sunscreens without proper UVA protection.
Oh this is good news then, as in my country the higher the SPF the higher the price! Thank you:)

So if we're not out in the sun too much during the day, is it okay to skip re-applying sunscreen?

can we use moisturizers with spf in it?

Is it ok if you don't use a separate sunscreen as long as your moisturiser has SPF? Mine has SPF 15.

The smell of sunscreen makes me sick to my stomach, are there any sunscreens that don't have that sunscreen smell?

But were there not recent studies not shown that higher SPFs were more efficient in doing it's job than lower ones? (british dermatology journal)
