Okay, I don't see why anybody is actually ARGUING about what type of dance is more spiritual. Does every dancer not move with their spirit? Dance IS spirit, about letting your spirit move you and creating beauty. It doesn't matter what genre of dance you choose, dance is a spiritual, beautiful thing, period. Don't disgrace the artform by comparing it.

And please, I am a bellydancer myself; don't insult us by planting a label of pure sexuality on the artform. We work hard to be taken serious.

@Mr153025 Three thousand years ago, most of the men were off at war conquering lands. Women and kids were stuck at home, bored. So they danced to entertain themselves, NOT to bring men pleasure, that came later. And in many cultures it was to help women prepare for childbirth. It was not for men to see, most of the time.yes, some dancers do try to get men riled up, but true belly dance will always be a celebration of the female. Try it yourself before you say it isn't spiritual.

I don't personally like the mix of Tribal and belly. Even if we bellydancers know the difference, everyone else does not, so it's important to keep the dance styles pure. That backbend, drop, and splits are not raqs sharki.

You're tummy muscle control is wonderful, hip movements are great. However, watch your arms so they don't fall down, keep the arms up.
