Actually, one out of a few movies created by Zionists, I believe, is just as significant and enchanting although it has nothing to do with Asians culturally, will have to be "The Color Purple". Both are directed and produced by Chinese people, which I find particularly significant and enchanting as they touch on culturally/racially sensitive subjects such as lesbian love affair and mother-daughter relationship. Oliver Stone’s Hollywood-style movie Heaven and Earth (1993) just doesn’t have the unique Asian touch. Ang Lee’s “Lust, Caution” (2007) is even worse as it fits the Zionist degenerate agenda.♦

Watched it twice in a row just allow everything to soak in. How touching. made my drop a tear. Amazing how much Wan loves Foon regardless of the sit. Although it did take Foon a min to collect herself which is understandable. Coming out to one self isnt easy. But Foon suit her character well as to being the passive one *plus shes so cute!* If only we could find this kind of love in our reality. Makes me believe just because it's such a touching story. So far one of my fav lez movies

I've seen this movie several times and have always liked it, however that Foon is one HIGH MAINTENANCE CHICK!

Wan has:

- bought her freedom

- lost her fortune saving her life

- given up a trip to America, braved the ocean, only to be bombed seconds later

- sent money to Foon's family years after the fact

And now she has to take care of her in old age.

All this and they only had 1 physical encounter 100 years ago; when Wan made out with Foon's eye socket.

Sigh! The things we do for love.

Foon (one in the wheel chair) got off the train and Wan walked up to her. They see each other for the first time in decades. Wan offer her hands and Foon reach for hers. Then the charater switch back to their younger self. Which symbolize their undying love for each other and like beeswaxer said " youth is alway's present in our mind's loved and our inner beauty is alway's there" and then the two walked off.

i still don't understand why Foon and Wan got seperated even after Wan jumped off the ship...Weren't they together by then??....

Throughout this movie, i thought the old lady in the beginning was Foon, until the end where they met up at the train station.

Well, before the meeting at the station, she said that after Foon disappeared (because of the bombing) she continued asking about her and searching for her, so she was always mentioning the name 'Foon' and everybody thought that she is crazy and started calling her Foon.
