  • Turtles leaves me cold.

  • I was 15, it was my first concert. It was such a special moment.

  • @Sylsianne i figured you were 15... damn man you are lucky i love that song xD

  • Kenny kirkland the GOAT. still gotta lol at his choice of patch for this one tho haha

  • @shamkim not a lot of option back then and at least it is close to a piano sound and not the Peter Gabriel 'flute' sound or something ;)

  • It was great, I was there.

  • @Sylsianne how old were you?

  • @MundoFalls I answered you above.

  • Not sure it was the first time live, wasn't it in NY in February 1985 before the release of "The dream of the blue turtles" ?

  • @Sylsianne yeah It was in the Ritz , New York

  • This is one of my all-time favorite songs, in this version. Saw them live but with the 2nd tour they made, unfortunately not this one, BY FAR Sting's best live, ever. Nobody will ever be able to replicate the level of talent and skill of this band... only true musicians can understand this!

  • @ScrapMetalBomb This is a much better version in my opinion.

  • this is what I call ENERGY!!!

I always forget how great was this band and how nice was this project

  • With or without The Police, HE´S a MASTER!

  • every musican in this band is exactly that, musicians, one of the best bands i have ever seen live

  • saw this show in brighton, one of the best line ups ever!!!!

  • Best band to ever back up sting I was lucky enough to see them in person three times.

  • the 2 and 4 is like GOD here. If you won't follow that u will die..

  • Would somebody please upload the Flintstones part?

  • This live version is on point!, noting else needs to be said.

  • Masterpiece !

  • my joy, his joyousness.....I so know what he means.

  • I just can't stop listening to it! Is it a dream?....

  • I´ve seen him Live at his Blue turtle tour and it touched me since today

  • Great great song

    Saw the concert two times.

In Genk Belgium and Rotterdam The Netherlands

    Fantastic performance

    Frank

  • かっくいいー

  • wicked

  • i think this was Stings best band ever!!

  • OMG I love Sting but i have never heard this song before, what a crime i committed!!!

    the song is AMAZING:)

  • @martitta1 you have to get the album - it's my favourite!

  • Omar 'Groovin' Hakim bangin da tubs like a wild banshee of pulsating funk.

  • Great song , full on energy, groove groove, best musicians in the world, what more could you want?........IMHO

  • Amazing; Kenny Kirkland can't quite keep up. On the studio album he lays down one of the all time fierce solos in the history of pop recording, but here he's a step behind. He just never found it.

Omar Hakim, on the other hand is a machine.

  • @aaronkneile err...you're just sounding like an idiot here. He starts cleanly on the 2nd beat of the bar and maintains the pulse through to the switch-over where the strong pulse goes to the 4th beat. Exceptional solo.

  • @MusicStudyMan damn, you schooled that bitch

  • @aaronkneile

You have a unique perception of time.

Kirkland's solo is in the pocket the whole way.

  • @aaronkneile lol you ignorant dick

  • This just blows the original out of the water.. Flippin' WOW!

  • pretty damn cool

  • Just watch this movie the other day. One of my favorites.

  • yes they do :) come to belgrade and you"ll hear one :)

  • that's the shit... amazing!

  • Only people who understand what real music is are the ones that would look up this clip and come to this site :)

  • Quite superb rythm section of Jones & Hakim. I saw this band on this tour and it changed my perception of music...enough said!

  • Fine music, I love. It's like my HAPPYNESSSSSSSS!!!

  • omar hakim is a freaking genius. as Stewart copeland is.

  • greatest song ever

  • ...everybody should have this with their morning cup of tea (whilst trying to figure out where the heck they are) ...

  • frenetical. one of sting´s best songs. I simply love it. And then in this all stars performance, simply fantastic.

  • thats a Powerful shuffle ..Bands don't play like tha anymore!!

  • it's the stewart copeland syndrome ;-)

    bravo mister hakim !

    kenny ... r.i.p. :'-(

    darryl...what a groooOOooove

    branford...great family,great artist

    THE dream team

  • mores the pity

  • This is a real singer with a real band. Sounds just like the recording because they can really play!

  • i almost like the original, soley because you can hear sting pernuaciating each word clearly. I grew up listing to the Police and Sting, because I am American and not English I have been singing some of his songs inserting some word I made up or sounding close to my American accent.....

    Taboo.

They are the Greatest 3 Man band tieing with Experience Jimi Hendrick.

Hard to Pick one but i'll take HIGH as Fuck and lighting his strato on FUCKIN INFERNO over, Mr. Sumner Spazzin to Copelands SLAP!

  • Kirkland kicks ass

  • This is the Music...

  • Omar Hakim is God. This track kept me practicing for months...awesome!

  • this...is...soooo goooooddd :|

  • Blue Turtles Tour in 1986 and the concert with Gil Evans Orchestra in Perugia, at Umbria Jazz 1987 in Italy, have been the most important things in Sting solo career. Nothing like the moons, during those nights ...

  • Omar Hakim gets those ghost and grace notes perfectly

  • Epic version indeed. :)

  • Front row for both tours dream of the blue turtles and nothing like the sun. Great concerts and yes kenny kirkland was at the top of his profession... R.I.P. Kenny Kirkland..your music lives on..

  • kenny kirkland's dead?

  • He passed away on November 12, 1998,

    due to congestive heart failure.

  • It must be said his heart failure was brought on by years of drug abuse. Nonetheless, it was very sad when he passed.

  • unfortunately yeah. Rest in peace

  • I love this song..

  • also :-)

  • i heard it in 1986 or 1987, so i can't remember well: but was it a little slower?

  • Original is veeeeery slow, yeah :D

  • yes, it is.

But i was talking about _this_ performance. I think this video has made it faster, vocals are innatural.

Or maybe i don't remember well.

  • Hmm, could be, maybe in few bpms,

    not sure...

  • however, this song, in this live, is just awesome! ..amazing

  • The original version of this song is by The Police, and is a lot less listenable than this version is.

  • PERFORMED BY THE POLICE,...written by Sting .........

  • Kenny Kirkland fo-eva!

  • una de las canciones con más marcha de la historia

  • The best band every accompanied any singer, at their best! No further comment needed.

  • Fantastic synth solo, one of the best ever:))

  • I know this is jazz, but face it.

    THIS SONG FUCKING ROCKS.

  • After that, I'm confident I'm sane too.

  • How can you explain shadows in the rain ?

    Yeah ! I love this song !

  • Yeah!! It;s really fantastic song...

  • Ero a Milano al teatro tenda nell'85 fantastico!

  • I haven't found the album version neither. But there's a video of someone playing bass along to the song from the album.

    (good quality!)

    watch?v=An-N_CA1ybk

    There you go!

  • una de mis preferidas del primer disco de sting,me gusta mas que la version de the police!!
