If they would have put the execution in it the film would have had to be about another 2 hours long plus i think it was better without the execution because it showed i side of her that most films dont just sayin
Hello everyday movie goer but she didnt just get her head chopped up. It took some time, she went to court and it happened in Paris not Versilles. And the story was about her life not the half second her head is sliced through. Go buy a history book and study Marie. The movie wasnt bad but it wasnt good. It was okay. You just dont know your French Revolutionary history!
Marie Antoinette was lame compared to Sofia's 'Lost in Translation', but I wouldn't go as far as calling it bad. Still I agree with most of your points.
also, it wasn't intended as a history film at all. it was an artistic and interpretive film. maybe some people don't get it, and i can understand if you don't like it, but i think you should understand it before u can it.
Thanks very much for the comment. Thanks to a few other comments (as well as some comments from friends of mine), I understand Marie Antoinette to be more of an artistic film than a historical biography. However, I still found it overall to be boring and a bit on the boring side, but I respect everyone's opinion on the matter and to be honest, it's people like you that keep the movie industry alive! So thanks again for the comments and hopefully my future reviews turn up better than this one :P
i have got to say that you completely missed the point of this movie. basically, all everyone seems to know about MA is that she was an evil queen who got her head chopped off. we already KNOW that we don't need to see it. the movie is about her life and WHY she got her head chopped off in the first place. also, you misunderstood the ending. she wasn't escaping, she was going to prison. the story goes on for years of pain, humiliation and death after that, and i think that is just not necessary.
I really really really hated people like you who think your some kind of movie critic. also I'll give you a history lesson maria antoinette my have been a very small part Frances bankruptcy I don't know I wasn't there but I do know that when louis XVI became king france was already having financial problems because of the 7 years war and frances involvement in the american revolution
I do NOT think I am some kind of critic, thankyouverymuch! I just like movies and post my personal opinions on them as I watch them. Case in point: this video! I did not like Marie Antoinette, so thus, I posted a video saying I did not like it, end of story ^_^
Well, the ending makes a bit fo sense I supppose, if I remember correctly Marrie and Louise were taken away from Versailles and taken to prison after their home is raided by the French revolutionaries, atleast I'm fairly certain. But Ive never seen it and its been a while since history.
You know what a great movie is, Green Street Hooligans, its a really good movie, some great action, some great music and acting by Elijah Wood before he was a pussy hobbit.. Boondock Saints is another good one
I actually liked the movie okay, but I have to admit the ending was disappointing. I guess I'm bloodthirsty or just like a bit more realism

I hate the movie, i agree with you in everything, but they're speaking italian in the ending, haha xD
You missed the music. THE ROCK MUSIC. God. Almost as bad as Twilight. Actually, WORSE, becouse in MA, as you said, Sofia IGNORED THE FLIKING HISTORY.
Don't listen to the "artistic sensitive" ones. You're completely right.

I'd rather watch that shitty movie again than re-watch this 10 minutes of bile.
