Gawd....they still have the long magic casting. I loved G2; thought it was one of the best RPGs ever made, but the game became a little repetitive. All in all, still one of the best. I want to try G3, but don't know if I can really play though it now....after all these years of getting use to Action RPGs. The only RPG rated higher than G2 during its time was Skies of Arcadia, which I never got a chance to play.

Grandia 3 has one of the best battle systems in my opinion. But with the 2nd Disc the story happened to be incomplete with a lot of plots. The most characters just appear and disappear/die without a story behind them. They should develop a game with a similar battlesystem, a story like in Grandia 1 or 2 and that combined with High Definition. With such lovely storys and one of the best battlesystems they would earn such hardly much money :)

I miss this game's beautiful graphics and AMAAAAZING battle system, but the story became terrible once you reached Disc 2 and the difficulty got really annoying later on.

@ryuchan123 Probably, the game is very easy, makes the phasing a lot faster(though I haven't completed yet). Battle system rock as usual, together with awesome graphic, Square Enix style. But the storyline is meh, it's not as epic as Grandia II. What's worse is there's too much cutscene, it's more like watching a movie than playing a game.

Untill just now I finnished Grandia 1. And my god... Literally the best RPG I have ever played. The storyline just puts you right in there. I finished it in about 24-28 hours I think. And the walkthrough guide said he finished it in 96? Must be a joke... None-the-less ... Best gaming experience, EVER!

The battle system may be "better" but Grandia 3 in general feels sinfully incomplete. They could have done so much more with it. They could have, for example, added a flight racing mini-game that allows you to play as Yuki following in the footsteps of his idol, Schmidt (as seen in the intro). They could have also added more emphasis on flight as a whole. It just feels horribly rushed and pales in comparison to the perfect masterpiece that is the orignal Grandia. Grandia 2 following close behind

Grandia I is, in my opinion, the best game ever made for any console. Ever. I can't say I've played II or III, but I don't think they will EVER compare. The storyline of G1 is just so elaborate that I don't know if it will ever be beaten in my records. I remember finally beating the game... totally worth it. It took me 180+ hours... The story in each game is completely unrelated. Only the battle system/magic spells/a few songs are common to each game. Think Final Fantasy and you get the idea.

Also while Grandia III was pretty good the first two games are definitely the best in the series.
