  • i thought this was opeth at first, very cool

  • @villainousturtle lol Pandora did that to me too but played the Opeth song first. When this song came on I thought it was a live version of In my Time of Need

  • Pandora just played this right before In My Time of Need. It tripped me out.

  • beautiful

  • anathema + katatonia= rapture.

  • I agree it can look kinda like an Opeth riff, but I don't think that they ripped them....

This is the music....you can't make something that doesn't look at least a little to something else...

Opeth is the most brilliant band these 15 years, and Rapture is walking in their trails it's a good band to become

  • @Madrigalwhisper This song came out before Opeth's Damnation. If anything Opeth copied Rapture but that's not the case. People just can't understand that some songs are bound to be similar.

  • This is truly one of the greatest songs ever. It's just perfection in musical form :D

  • This song is creepy in that it really reminds me of several dark moments in my life. It is so beautiful, and speaks to my soul like a dark muse.

  • Opeth :D

  • I've known this band for a lot of years and yes, this band but specially this song, is utterly amazing ^_^

  • in my time of need-opeth

  • @bonethug4life Hi, This came out before Opeth released Damnation.

  • @bonethug4life Haha, your ass got owned.

  • Chamfort is the very exemplar of the botched suicide.

  • im gonna cut my veins.. jaja! super melodic songs...

  • Were the lyrics from Sami Hinkka?

  • every time I hear the first part of this song I think of "in my time of need" by Opeth...

    I like this better though

  • I noticed the similarity, as well. However, Rapture's Songs for the Withering was released in 2002, while Opeth's Damnation first saw the light of day in 2003. I guess Mikael could have been inspired, but since he also was in Katatonia, a major stylistic influence on Rapture, maybe it's the other way around...

  • ha, same here, I was listening to Pandora and this came up and i said out loud, fuck yeah Opeth,, then i realized it was some different band

  • This is song is very beautiful in a dark, emotionally-filled, mysterious way. 5 stars given out for this one.

  • Love this track. Love the emotion.

Rapture's Futile and Songs For The Withering own.

  • rapture in all its glory. The Silent Stage shit is going to sink rapture if Rapture does not return back to its roots of Futile and Songs for the withering ....

  • great song, I dint realize the lyrics where so great!!! NICE VIDEO DUDE!!! 5/5

  • Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you liked it, the lyrics are indeed amazing!

  • everything washes away.

  • @afoolisharrangement I believe the lyrics are an adaptation of a poem by Nicolas de Chamfort.
