at the conclusion of the last furious presto section, just before the quiet ending, I spontaneously heard/saw the tubercular Chopin coughing up blood on thekdyboard. what a masterful interpretation!
I personally think that the slower sections were to unstable (in terms of tempo and rythm) but I thought the presto sections were as furious and aggressive as they need to be, same with the coda. I thought the last line was a little rushed. I see how you can like it though.
This ballade is hard, but the hard parts are a lot of patterns-patterns that must be slow practiced a LOT (and yeah, there are some stupidly hard jumps too.)
Isn't this piece about a happy family, then a rainstorm comes and eventually washes away one of the young children? I heard that from a concert pianist that played this piece once.
A tragic story narrated by a great master...I love Richter's turbulence and fury that truly made this a tragic...this is becoming one of my favorite pieces.
There is an "opinion" that the Earth is flat - it has nothing to do with reality. The same with your opinion - you can't substantiate it in any language. BTW, no need to open new accounts... Your style didn't change ;)
the sound of birds singing is music. a cry or a laughter is music. we defined music, us Humans, it is our science. you, serenla258, are so tangled-up in your own pride that you can't truly enjoy music anymore. i feel sorry for you. yes this is music; it is Chopin's 2nd Ballade through Richter's mind, a man whose understanding of music has proven to exceed at least far above and beyond your pathetic little rules. all we have from Chopin himself is ink on paper, and the stupidity is from you.
Je pense que çà ne sert à rien de continuer à parler.
Vous vous croyez très intelligent, hé bien continuez comme çà... Par contre, personne n'a le droit de dire : "you can't truly enjoy anymore" surtout quand vous ne savez pas comment je joue.
I'm actually working this ballade. I found it is very beautiful, but like music sensible. Not technical exploit...
The real harmonie begin in the soul. Mais vous vous en fouttez.
Piano players with poor technique usually pretend to be extremely "music sensible". I'm looking forward to hear your own implementation of Op. 38 - especially coda. Obviously your soul is full of harmony...
You are an ideologist : I am not pretensious, but I have the estime of my work. I have a very good technique.
This ballade is very beautiful, and seems diffucult, but there are not many difficulties... I have been suprised when I have began to work this piece.
And I think you are not a pisnite, but a big jerk.
Looking forward to hear your "very good technique"... No doubts "there are not many difficulties" for you... I will gladly post it or will provide a link to you post.
As for whether I'm a pianist or jerk (or both), - it's not for you to decide. let's return to this subject after we can hear your Op. 38
amazing performance -- the concluding presto is electrifying -- at the sudden pause before the final recapitualation of the slow theme, one can imagine Chopin playing this and coughing up blood
I hate to say it, but I don't like this interpretation very much.

I don't love his "presto"...
poor performance...

You may not like Richter's performance but it doesn't make it "poor".

his performance is only technical...
he is no a real musician.

You forgot to mention that it's only your personal opinion.
In my opinion your opinion is completely moronic. It would be really interesting to hear from you how do you define the "real musician".
truecrypt 3 years ago
Music is not only opinion : the real harmonie is universal : l'art nous fait accéder à cette harmonie. Don't broke it.
I don't speak very good english, but I will try to explain =
a real musicien is a person who play music, not only sounds.
I think Richter is perehaps a good pianist, but no a real musician.
His touch is not authentic, as very lot others "pianists..."

Have you ever heard Richter playing Ravel's Miroirs suite?
Oh also, Richter was world famous. And you're a young pianist. Let's see who's more credible here: Richter, or you. Now hmmm...

Рихтер - исполин, поэт, вообще - человек.

Lovely unusual Micro Accelerandi 4 Sviatoslav.
Nice poetic sequences. The middle feels like
a Tempestuous Russian mind of this century.
In the lyric sections the phrasings have a nice torpid irregularity to them that reminds 1 of Field's Nocturnes.
