@BanginWitKlownz Yes, where the clock tower used to be. That burned down a few years back and has been replaced with a new clock building, with the same clock reworked.
I like the posting. I want to move to Cortland. Will soon have a MBA in Finance and Marketing. Tired of big city america. What is Central New York like. How are the people friendly or closed. Thanks
@ruffles272 Yes, this really is Cortland in the early 1900's. No it is not the same town we live in now. We have progressed into the future...lol. Perhaps you are from Cortland, OH? This is Cortland, NY
All 3 are about a 30 minute ride. For fun we have many state parks, and other local and close by amusement parks. We are also home to the Statewide Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum, the 1890 house, a free library, and something going on for free all summer until the snow falls. Then we have Greek Peak Ski Resort which is an area that is growing annually each year. Hope Lake is near their too.
@Darkpuppy99 We are in the center of all of these places. Each one is about 30 minutes out. We have more bars per capita than most, so there is a lot of drinking. We also are home of the Statewide Country Music Association with a music hall and museum. Plenty of camping, fishhing, parks and paths.
Thank you for the support. Almost all of our teschers today are trained at SUNY Cortland. This town is one of the first to prosper in the US when it was founded by Columbus, and I hate to see people try to smear that history with inuenndo B.S.
I lived here for 15 years the place has no work , is full of crime and the townies are all retarded no teeth crack heads worst place ever i am so glad i moved away from that dump
Where were you living for those 15 years? Yes there is no work, but there is rarely crime, and where do you get off calling people from there "retarded no teeth crack heads"? Take your head out of your ass and get to know people before you judge anything loser.
As for no teeth, it's because the town's pushing for flouride, which causes other health risks, to which we disposed of in the 70's. As for the crackheads, ours are monitored, and put behind bars. Our town is being updated through a grant from the Syracuse Development Agency Grant program, among others, and it is one of the safest towns. Crime rate is also one of the lowest . Clinton hasn't been able to do much in reforms that our state needs. Are you a Democrat? I am not, and never will be!
The ole stone bride is still located across from Cortland Line Company on Homer Ave. It can be seen from the sport fields behind what was the junk yard, which has been transformed into a park. Contento's
