I think we can connect with Dexter in the sense of hopelessly following our own programming, even when it hurts us to do so. Sometimes our simplest instincts and desires can lead us all astray. Dexter's world is fascinating because while he's free, he's trapped in his mind. When he gets caught, his mind will finally be free. His character has grown from getting a thrill from alluding everyone towards a part of him wanting to get caught so it can all be over. Fantastic video and audio here.
