I think that the end theme for the 1st season of Nanoha is way too cute and upbeat for an anime like this. They should have used a darker and more ominous song for the end credits.
@Jac2Mac well maybe since the series was darker than it looked like, mostly because of what happened to Fate. But in the end, it was a happy ending and 1st series still was quite like "mahou-shoujou" genre, so I think the ending fitted
