  • where can i get 1 of these ,

  • You know one of those thick space blanket type tarps would be good in this. Silver side down in the summer and up on the winter. Keep skeeters from biting through to.

  • Thank you for this excellent review, sir! I went camping with a friend near his house in the mountains, and slept out in my little nylon hammock. I know all too well now what you mean about breathable nylon leaking heat into the air. I am planning to pick up the OD version of this hammock from my local surplus store, and I can't wait to try it out!

  • @KomaruKirinashi remember you can also buy those pads from Hennessey etc that will block the cold out from below. On this model, your cold will come from the sides if you do not add in those flaps..Much more venting on sides. Both will need a pad of some sort below come winter. Depending on the temps your sleeping in this time of year, both will be cold if not setup right. You can also do the cocoon hang with the nylon by adding a sleeping bag to the "outside" of the hammock.

  • @Justaguyinnc I will look into those. I bought my hammock a few weeks ago, and immediately set it up in my yard to test it out. It was fantastic, but I did not sleep in it overnight. I currently have it rigged up in my room to get sleeping posture and position down, and then I will probably set it up in the yard overnight a few times to get thermal solutions down. Really looking forward to this project. Thanks again for the great review!

  • does the camo cover ie rain fly come off.

  • @1swampwalker nope..thats a ceiling for the mosquito net.. a regular rainfly is still needed to go over this.. think of this as sun cover only...

  • Do u sleep pretty flat

  • @mrouterrim yeah you can turn on your belly in this one.. you tie the webing straight across and tight..

  • i can definately hear your voice on a fishing show lol very good sir

  • I just bought the olive drab version of this system and agree that for the price it is a way better deal than the more expensive units . Also the canvas bottom offers better protection from biting bigs but also makes it a better option for fall and winter here in Nova Scotia.

  • @maddogtjones your right, on a budget or wanting to put your money someplace else this can't be beat for average size guy/gal...I always suggest an added rainfly and a footprint for when you goto ground. thanks for the reply.

  • How much does the hammock weigh?

  • @chrischin96 in the neigborhood of 12 x 10 x 6 inches compressed and weighing in at around 3.5 in weight with compression sack and lines still attached.

  • Looks like a nice product for the money. Thanks for the demo and review.

  • I have a nylon hammock and the problem is alabama mosquitoes bite right through nylon. You say this one is made of canvas? I think canvas is better for a hammock.

  • @andrewsheldonreeves Yes sir, cotton bottom for a bit more protection. I am also in the south and as we both know, mosquitos can be a bother. One reason i favor this type, for ground access is the other. You also have the option of getting a double bottom nylon or waterproofed (poly coated) nylon-taffeta if you perfer nylon. I personally just like the ventilation these offer.

  • Good review.
