Hi you say i could leave my oven open to dehydrate them as i dont have a dehydrator, how long to leave the oven for, or can i close the oven it and put it on very low?, also can you give me the proportion to this banana biscuit recipe?/ thanks
@CamilleVendryes Hi :) If you dont have a dehydrator you may turn your oven on its lowest setting and leave the door slightly open, kinda like if you were going to use the broiler. You may then put any of your yummies that you want to dehydrate on a cookie sheet and let them slowly dry out. There is no strict rules to this. Basically you want the biscuit to be dry to the touch and slightly warm. Perhaps an hour or so. Keep checkin :) Remember the thought is to dehydrate, dont worry to much :)
@CamilleVendryes also, if you're new to raw, but have a thermometer(and want to make it as raw as possible) you can set it to beep when it gets too hot in there and you can open the door more.
Shauna, I have her books as well and you know what, I have not made this yet, I will make this before the week is out. I have bananas that is a little more ripen than you used. I was also thinking to do 1/2 walnuts and 1/2 pecans to see how it will taste. I will let you know.
Your videos really insire me a lot. Thank you so much. I know I could live high raw but not completely raw.
LOL! I have all her books too. I love her recipes, I am making the Zucchini Bread in her Raw Food Essentials cookbook. Love this book too, I purchased this book in September.
What a fun afternoon break! I did not realize that I had a banana bread recipe right in my very own cookbook collection. Thank you. You are beautiful and totally diggin' the music. See you later!
According to 80/10/10, it's bad to combine fruit with fats (nuts & seeds), because it will cause spikes in blood sugar levels and therefore, insulin resistance.
@urbanrootz , I am not familiar with 80/10/10. However, I do usually like to eat fruit on its own, but don't mind a little treat such as this here and there. Thank you for your input, it is always nice to hear different points of view. I will gladly check out 80/10/10. :)
@urbanrootz I'd like to point out that Dr Doug specifically states in 811 that simple whole sugars enter the blood within minutes, while fats take 12-24 hours. Combining fruit and fats in the same meal is irrelevant and not a problem. Rather maintaining overall low levels (on average over a week) of fat intake is one of the core messages of 811. I also believe it is prudent to make decisions based on more than just one source. I've never met or heard of a vegan diabetic, only cured ex-diabetics.
I like your videos are you 100% raw you make your recipes look so easy i was wondering if you could make more videos because I am just starting and need all of the information and sopport that I can get thanks love the videos once again
