Well, if you guys would like to help humanity against the inevitable, horrid wars that are caused by our current economic system, then I suggest you to google into the Zeitgeist Movement and the Venus Project.
Fruvous pretty much defined my teenage years. They left the scene just as unceremoniously as they came, and the music scene will never again see a band quite like them ever again. Whenever I wax reminiscent about Fruvous and I get the unavoidable puzzled look from whomever I'm talking too, I always feel proud that I heard the music, saw the shows, and that I was there.
This has always been such a great song. I remember when I was 24 and the first gulf war began, I was in the Army and my Grandmother just cried at the thoughts of me going to war. Now 20 years have gone by and we haven't seen peace, well done Moxy at airing our Canadian confliction.
I am proud to say I grew up and went to high school with a few of these lads back in thornhill...I miss their sound. Dave and MIke,Patrick says hello.
OK, from this moment on, I'm going to try to refer every arrogant, stupid prick that I meet to this song, and maybe some of the idiocy from the world will be eliminated. I love this song, go Moxy Fruvous! :-)
I've always loved this song, loved singing it...it's so excellent when poets can create something that can be relevant years later. I've become a Muslim since I had that first audio tape of Moxy Fruvous, so the song has even more effect on me from my perspective
this song always makes me cry. That and the Drinking song. They're both such passionate pieces. I'm proud to be a Canadian and I'm proud that these guys are Canadian. I miss you Moxy! :)
I've been thinking of Moxy Früvous lately and am really glad to find this link. You did an excellent job on the images for the song. Very well done, 5 stars. Peace.
Love the song AND the video. Only one thing-I wouldn't have used a picture of the Justice Leauge at 1:42, I would have used a picture of G.I. JOE, 'America's Favorite Hero'-that would get the point across better. The JLA fight for good, not oil, and they don't get involved in bullshit wars like these. Other than that, GREAT video-if I can find Jian Ghomeshi's e-mail URL, I think that I'll send it to him (he's the writer of the song, FYI.)
Beautiful. Brought me to tears.

It's interesting this song was written in response to the first Gulf War in 1991, and is just as relevant 20 years later.

Nice compilation for a great song that continues to hold true regardless of the name of the war.

If everyone on the planet could share that, too.
Would you fight to protect "this kind of life"?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
if you don't fight, then you get your ass kicked...and there are a lot of people wanting, waiting to see if they can kick your ass!
so you just sit there then and try and sell that Peace & Love and see how many of those wanting, waiting to see if they can kick your ass buy it.

imckdonnelly 10 months ago
@imckdonnelly - written and sung by Canadians, while most images in the video are of America.
And, the guy who created the video is a Canadian, and he got it right.
That should give you a clue, imckdonnelly.
