Why is it that everyone thinks that the iPod is better? I think it's because everyone else has one, and so to fit in, they have to get one too. I dunno, Zune beats everything in the iPod line except for the iTouch and iPhone, but they are totally different. I'm not really a fanboy, because I have an iTouch and a Zune, but face the facts, when it comes to just MP3 players, Zune just wins. Better audio, functionality, endurance, screen size...
yeah but you compare it to a normal iPod, but if you compare it to the Touch, which is in the same category of MP3 players of that kind. I have a touch, and i never got my hands on a zune, but what I understand from vids here, and other sites, is that the zune only uses the Wi-Fi for synchronisation, and not for browsing the web or download thousands of apps..
but the touch comes in 8,16, & 32's only. the zune was produced to be in direct competition with the ipod classic. the wifi is also good for sharing music with other ppl in the area who have a zune (the 3 play rule has a hack now), i guess for me personally i have a laptop with tons of apps and more memory and to surf the net and type (haha cause i'm opinionated online can't you tell?). if i only had 32g i would just have music & movies.
Zune mp3 player was recently rated as Maxim's #2 item of the year.. I am personally neither an ipod fan or micro.. but the sound seems to be legit from what ive heard people tell me and the 'man-on-the-street' video segment by C|Net, where 4 out of 6 people chose Zune's audio over Ipod's. IF the price Is right this thanksgiving I'll buy it. The previous player I had was the Sansa 4Gbts, and the sound of it could make an onion cry.
I think the Ipod touch is awesome even though I'm an Ipod hater. you have to admit it's the most sophisticated player out there. It's just too damn expensive! a video/music player should be under 300$. Should also be available in large memory sizes. For that, I will buy the zune. Sorry Ipod, but the touch is too pricey.

ever since my fucktarded friend touched my Zune, (the new version), the touch pad is messed up. When i try to shuffle to a new song, it moves the volume up and down. ( like, when you click right, the volume goes down or up and shit..).

same thing can happen with laptops, ur friend pushed way 2 hard on one side of the touchpad and compressed the recoil. u can GENTLY try to pop it back up, if its just stuck it will come back but its possible ur friend broke it. in which case i would take it back and LIE tell them it came like that and ur not sure why it isnt working properly. get them to replace the phone on site. make a big deal out of not having a phone for repair times. that way they dont figure it out in the repair shop
The Zune is a great device. I'd choose it over an iPod Classic, since the Zune can sync wirelessly, you can share your media, etc.
However, I'd have to say that I'd choose the iPod touch over the Zune, despite the Zune's greater storage capacity and the Zune's cheaper price.
However, Apple should let iPod touch and iPhone users the capability to sync wirelessly and for us to be able to share our media rather than using a third-party application.
i really like this, but i really like the ipod classic too. the thing that the ipod wins me over with is itunes. limewire is compatible, marketplace doesn't have movie downloads, etc.
Let's face it! Mac & PC are both great! They both come out with great products and keep each other on their toes! A lot of times Mac invents it and way overcharges for it, then microsoft makes a cheaper version of it and in turns brings the price WAY down. Then the cycle starts over and apple invents another new product and the cycle starts over. Not always that way, but often!

I'm considering getting this players - will be my first one - but am told the hard drive players are more prone to skipping than flash drive players if you're moving around or running or whatever. Also, I'm concerned that because of the moving parts, a hard drive player might be more prone to damage - if you were to drop it, let's say - than a flash drive. Any comments?
Yes, flash is much more durable, I doubt you'd be likely to encounter skipping with a hard drive player in most circumstance, they have a big cache, but you can brake them by dropping them just once if you're unlucky, and they can be damaged by movement.

ipod touch isnt very good imo, only difference is a touch screen and a web browser. touch screen is more of a gimmick and a web browser is useless unless there is a wifi network around you. which is useless if your using your on wifi network because the why not just use the computer?

PC's play games. They are easiest to do hacks and coding work with. If you spent as much money on it as whatever a mac costs, your pc will be more powerful. Now on to macs. Macs are easier to use. They don't crash. They have useful tools include with the software like garageband. They look cool. Each of those things mentioned are traits exclusive to that system.
ipod became popular because it was so much easier and simpler to use than the other players. its changing now though. the ipod touch is the first one to integrate wifi/computer like applications into an mp3 player though. more will be coming i guess.

4. microsoft releases NEW firmware for OLDER Zunes to update to as well, ipod makes you suck up the glitches

7. the zune will pick up artist + artist. feat. artist as the same artist instead of making it 2 categories like the ipod.

ipod became popular because it was so much easier and simpler to use than the other players. its changing now though. the ipod touch is the first one to integrate wifi/computer like applications into an mp3 player though. more will be coming i guess.

AHDKHUOIUWSH Ipod fanboys piss me off so much. Creative Labs actually designed and patented the interface that Ipod is using. Ipod Copied creative. The zen came first, and it was admittedly not as good as the ipod, but apple is way behind Zune now. Apple has been purposefully leaving off features that the Zune and Zen have for a while, because of their alliances with the accessory makers. Apple is worse than M$. People are just to stupid to see it.

it's all about the content. Zune Marketplace is a joke. on iTunes, you actually buy the song, album, tv show or video, you don't just rent it. OH! wait... you can't even RENT videos on the marketplace.

The zune market place is alot funner to search for music than itunes. you can buy songs, album, podcasts (free of course), music videos, and plus theirs a subscription plan also for 15$ a month. I am sure microsoft will start putting movies and tv shows really soon. the main reason why the ipod is more "popular" than the zune is because its been in the market for more than 5 years, the zune has bearly been in it for a year.
