  • @Punkerstyle9 yep....can't really see what he's doin...crappy vid.

  • thank you !! lol i was looking for video's on how to remove the string and all i got were people yapping on how old the string's should be before changing but you just pulled that thing off and i was like aw so simple !! lol but awesome thank you. im not an expert on guitar's. because my cousin broke it. Cause he said he can " tune " it lol. But im just gonna take it to a music store. Get it tuned and change the string's THANK YOU !! lol

  • Too bad my guitar is over 20 years old and doesn't look like that, it's much harder on that one...

  • You make it look like it's easy...

  • lol my strings r like 2 years old at least and im finally gonna change em, i was too lazy

  • lol mine are metal ones and some sound weird when played without holding any frets kinda a loudly.. whats wrong with it and it has some green stuff really few of them and some are let say rusty... whjat shud i do?

  • OMG HELP ME lol i have no pegs on my guitar ( its a eagle CC-12 Black) !! please reply or just give me a link for a vid that suits my guitar.!

  • oh i have been doing it wrong for 4 years,... haha

i never wound it around once before putting it through the hole i always put it through first and then tune

    god this helps haha

    thanks

  • How long is a string supposed to work before it breaks?

  • It might never "break"

  • Then what happens to it???? My strings break, sometimes crack.

  • My dad had a guitar that he didn't play much so the stings had never been changed

    ...for twenty years

  • According to reasearch Strings should be changerd every three months for beginners, even if they don't break. Because they may rust or corrode effecting your sound of the guitar, ask your dad for more info.

  • You're pretty pretentious, sooo... blow me

I was just saying we had an old guitar and the strings didn't break.

The question about how long before strings break. I said they won't necessarily break

    "according to research" hahahha

  • My acoustic doesn't have pegs what do i do?!?

  • Comment removed

  • He didnt even leave any slack. 0.o

  • G string is hardest to take off.

    and on girls too lol

  • actually its very easy on the girl.. just gotta slide it down her legs :)

  • thanks

  • this guy is a jackass, he doesnt even show you how to remove the peg he just says "notice how we've removed the peg"

  • Most peg winders have a slot on them. The slot accommodates the head of the peg. Then, use the winder like your would use a hammer to remove a nail (except gentle force is all that's needed).

If you don't have a peg winder...use a pair of pliers but first cover your peg with a cloth.

Oh...by the way, it's poor form to insult someone who is instructing you for free.

  • It's just this guy can't teach, I watched all the videos with him in it. And thanx for the help.

  • ......... what about electric...

  • Haven't learnt nothing here... How to remove the peg more easily?

And the way he places the string on the machine head, one can't see anything. Why not a close up???

    * disappointing *

  • hahahah true dat

  • why is everyone pretending their black/cool

  • is it easier to pull the peg out when the string is busted??

  • if your replacing an old string just loosen it first by unwinding the string.

    makes removing the peg easier

  • There is another video here that I like better, short, sweet and close-up. I do not like this pull-tight and then tighen with the peg method ... I like to insert the string leaving some slack - about enough to reach the opposite peg, wrap once around the top, and then tighten underneath having it wrap around towards the base of the machine head.

It probably doesn't matter much, but I think you get less rattling and play the closer the string is to the bottom of the machine head.

  • Could you please link to that other video? It would be appreciated.

  • i agree with you,and i have been changing strings for years, and I always ask players do you change all at once are one at a time?

    how about you?

  • definately one at a time because if you dont theres way to much pressure on the bridge and you might not think it makes a difference but after years if you replace to middle strings first then the outside ones (especially on acoustics) it will put a lot of unnecissary stress on the bridge and saddle

  • Several luthier (guitar techs) including some whom have built guitars have explained the above is incorrect. It does not matter if you remove all the strings at once (yes acoustics too). The only major factor is that you replace those strings (and tension) within a short period of time (few hours).

  • Some people recommend leave some extra length of the string before it is then twisted to be tuned. How come that guy leave only too little extra, that gives him very limited tuning...is it good or bad thats my question?

  • lol he twisted the string the wrong way when he started turnin the nob lol

  • i think he's stoned and what hole does he put it through

  • itd be nice if everyone had one way instead of me watching 10 000 different styles and messing up on each of them

  • this didnt help at all

  • how do i take the peg out? should i like pull as hard as i can.. i dont wanan break it

  • To get the peg out use a wire cutter.Just pull it out.

  • crap...

wish this video was there a month ago....I lost two strings trying to fix the broken one. Now, I can replace it with no problem.

  • i know slow dow. you said never wrap on the outside and then 2 seconds later i see you wrappin on the outside. come on man.

  • good video - but did you have to zoom out just when he gets to putting the string through the tuner?

  • I really need to learn to do it right. Thanks, man.

  • Overall - great! Will teach newbies well. However, you didn't mention anything abour stretching the strings...

  • thanks for making this video. I juts got my guitar yesterday but I'm already worried about changing the strings cos i really don't wanna break it! I don't wanna take it to a shop though because i wanna learn how to do it. Well....good luck to me.

  • whoops, i forgot to wrap my stings, what does that mean?

  • That's a great movie. But I can't get the peg out lol. Should I force it? :D

  • try gripping it with pliers (with some paper inbetween so you dont mash up the peg) and try twisting it gently, see if that helps loosen it.

  • Thanks, I used some pliers back then and it worked indeed.

  • you should mention how to stretch a string though

  • thanks mate!

  • thanks a lot my friend. right after watching your video i changed my snapped string in less than couple min.'s

  • good but you should have do it in classic guitar dude..
