My favourite pedal is the deucetone. The Clean Rat setting is wonderful as a basic launchpad for the other setting.I also have a Rat 2 that I bought a while back that I love also.
Hi ... nice demo ... so as far as the Deucetone goes ... is it closer to the new Rat 2 or the vintage? In other words can the Deucetone create the Vintage tones or is as harsh as the Rat 2? (I suspect its closer to the Rat 2).
@ChickenRapist Cool ... thanks for the info and the great demo. I wound up getting an original 80's small box rat with the LM308. Will be interested to see what the latest reissues from ProCo will be like ... apparently they may be shooting for a more exact sound to the early guys. Thanks again!
ChickenRapist which one do you recommend? i used to have a rat2 but it got broken, i'm planning to buy a new one, mmmm but witch one? great demo by the way!!!
oh right on dude! can you possibly do another demo with more explaining cuz i hear there is a switch to change the modes for which rat sound you want... id appreciate it greatly... but is it like the most insane pedal ever?? or best proco pedal?
Quite a versatile pedal.. Plus I used it at ZERO filter for ONE of the THREE available modes on only ONE of the channels.. So yeah.. You still can tweak the Vintage RAT mode, and still have another few modes at your disposal, and another channel to boot!
I bought the Deucetone due to the Clean RAT mode (diodeless) that makes it sound like a tube amp about to be cranked!

are both pedals US made?

@bitzmil
Should be. The vintage is an old reissue. Not so sure about the Deucetone since it used the 'updated' opamp.
Anyways the origin doesn't matter!

You're right, it is closer to the Chinese RAT 2, simply because of the OD07DP op amp rather than the famed LM308.

I'd say the original vintage with the LM308 is more smooth for OD tones, to heavier distorted ones.
The RAT2 has a more harsher high end, making it more usable for distortion tones.. The Deucetone is more versatile with 2 channels..
I suppose it's your choice, but give the BYOC Mighty Mouse a look too!
