What I see in Cersei is a real woman that hasn't been loved in her fucking life, whose husband is a drunkard that is always fucking with sluts, and moreover, he never loved Cersei, only Lyanna. Let's try to look beyond and understand her forced mind.

I cannot wait for this bitch to die. George R. Martin should have the Starks capture Jeoffrey in battle, and then offer to free him if Cersei comes and confesses to incest. After Cersei confesses, the Starks should execute her and Jeoffrey in the most gruesome way possible. The Greyjoys should then besiege Lannisport and Casterly rock and destroy the Lannister stronghold. That would be a perfect ending to the Lannisters in the book series; it would show how treachery is repayed with justice.
@AntiTroll101 I think that's a very black and white way of viewing it, which I don't think was the intention. The whole point in the series is that every side has flaws, also the starks. And the lannisters really has saved the kingdom time and time again, so in hindsight it's not a very grateful way of dealing with them.
She's one of the more complex characters of this series and very well written. I just love how strong the characters of A song of Ice and Fire are. Great story too.

I`m trying hard to find something about Cersei that is likeable, but its pretty damn hard. The only thing is her absolute devotion to her children, but even that is a corruptive influence I think. She will go to any length to protect them and their right to the throne, which means she will do a lot of questionable things. I imagine it must be weird to play a character that everybody hates, but that is a testament to a job well done.

In the books I never got the impression that there was ever any love for him, but in the show she revealed that she did love him very much in the beginning (I believe her words to Ned were "I worshiped him"), but he disappointed/wounded her by not feeling the same (he couldn't move past his love for Lyanna), and that more or less bred her hatred *-)

@hakuro they changed up her character a bit from the books though, mainly her feelings for Robert. In the books I never got the impression that there was ever any love for him, but in the show she revealed that she did love him very much in the beginning (I believe her words to Ned were "I worshiped him"), but he disappointed/wounded her by not feeling the same (he couldn't move past his love for Lyanna), and that more or less bred her hatred *-)

I disagree with her portrayal of cersei...I feel like she should be more vain, and less cautious. And Cersei is "politically-minded" to a point, although I hope lena heady does a good job of showing how she handles her power (badly).
