@annihilatate train them to know their name inside or in a close area, and every time u call heir name give them a treat. then increase the distance untill u can let them run around without worry.

some dogs are just like that though, my dog always stayed close to me even when I let him go outside, now hes older he runs further but i only needa whistle to get him to come back.
