OK Wakfu is just awesome, the anime is awesome, the game is awesome as-well in my opinion and its only in french which is unfortunate for those who don't know it good thing i went to a french school ;) . The only way you're gonna watch any type of episode is if you go to the actual site and you can watch the episode of the week which is following the series but otherwise if you wanted to watch anything before that you'd have to buy it OR if your among the luckiest you already have the channel.

@epicnessinacan I saw someone else mentioned this but theres some very kind french speaking 4channers who've subbed every episode in season 1, and are working on season 2 as the episodes come out. google "brotherhood of tofu" they've got links for downloads for every episode and are updating/subbing season 2 episodes as they're released. It's a pretty damn good anime, best I've seen anyway. Give it a shot, I don't speak french but it's very pleasing to listen to regardless!
I hope they find a good enough English voice actor for Nox, the craziness of the French version is going to be hard to match. perhaps someone who did The Joker...

@songofyesterday Probably. Instead of having an animator draw hundreds of drawings, he can draw a few characters, break them up into puppet-like parts and pull their strings. It's probably faster than traditional animation too.

The animation quality has its ups and downs in this show. One of the later episodes was actually the pilot so you might notice a sudden drop in quality for that episode.
However, some episodes are jaw dropping. 17 comes to mind.
Yes its flash. And the season 2 fan subs are superb. A good crew is on top of it with 1080p and excellent translation and timing. Season 1 is a little hard to get through the first half dozen episodes at times....too childish coupled with relatively poor quality subs and resolution. But it picks up once the main story gets along. This series is epic! I think it will take America by storm once they get in gear and bring it over officially.

Ooh, now that looks lovely. I'd heard about the series but hadn't seen it before. The style is vivid and simple and moves really well. I love the bad guy's voice (the old man calls him 'Xelor'?), so delightfully creepy with that little laugh.
@Astria Xelor is the name of a time manipulation class in the MMORPG "Dofus" (which is directly linked to wakfu) you can tell that the class is based off of manipulation of time by the name (backwards its Rolex, the watch brand =D) if you keep watching the show you'll see other classes that all spawn from the game, Dofus. (Which i believe takes place some time before the show (and soon game, which is in beta testing now) wakfu)

@uberfun19 Ankama is slow. That's really all there is to it. The first season of the show is done (it's ridiculously good), the second season is slated for... February, I think, and the game is still in closed beta. They'll be doing a wipe soon, and SquareEnix signed on as the publisher, but there's no real news anywhere.

the voices just sound....artificial somehow. I can't put my finger on it... AH! THAT'S IT! Their voices sound closer than their characters are to the screen----in other words, this lacks appropriate distance syncing....an I wasn't even aware of that concept until this show failed at it hard enough for me to become aware of it. Aside from that it looks good, though.
@deadmeh Yeah, you're all right ! In most of the TV shows like Wakfu, I often prefer the enemies, the bad personnalities, you see. They at least have a style, and when you watch the iop's or the cra's personnality, you can say that it were built to make laughing the children. The bad spirit is a bit more reserved to grown ups like you and me. This show isn't boring at all ! It holds you since the first watch ! I hope you understand me, I'm not sure about my English. Now this is one of the few good examples of Flash animation done really well. It's a shame most cartoon studios haven't figured out how to do Flash properly. (i'm looking at you, 'Johnny Test'.)
@Launchpad05 I'm still not a huge fan of Flash animations (Johnny Test is simply painful to watch) but I agree that this one's done amazingly well. It compensates with stunning art, and the flash is well done.
@Launchpad05 actually most likely it isn't flash but uses the same techniques as flash. it's probably after effects or an animation program. flash is mainly used for the web but this can be acheived in flash most companies just prefer to use other programs.
@Launchpad05 Johnny test was pretty good at first the animation was good and the humor was spot on but you're right. as it progressed the animation grew lazy and the jokes became lame ass shout outs
@iceeman931 Yep. It's usually pretty easy to tell; if the characters look like a set of pieces that slide around on-screen, it's probably flash. Wakfu is a special case; it's Flash that actually looks GOOD, because they animate frame-by-frame for the most part.
Season 2 is a bit different; they actually have three teams. One does the quick run in cheap flash, the second goes over it with 3D models where necessary, and the third animates everything frame by frame.
@Launchpad05 (Commenting on old comments should be a cardinal sin, I know) but Samurai Jack was also a fairly decent example of quality vector illustration (At least ,for its time.)

Usually, animation, especially head turning and other actions that require a lot of redrawing are done with very few frames.

@deadmeh Yeah, you're all right ! In most of the TV shows like Wakfu, I often prefer the enemies, the bad personnalities, you see. They at least have a style, and when you watch the iop's or the cra's personnality, you can say that it were built to make laughing the children. The bad spirit is a bit more reserved to grown ups like you and me. This show isn't boring at all ! It holds you since the first watch ! I hope you understand me, I'm not sure about my English. I'm still young, man !

wakfu is made by the creator of dofus, ankama, a french studio.
so it is normal if the series isn't subtitle.

Now this is one of the few good examples of Flash animation done really well. It's a shame most cartoon studios haven't figured out how to do Flash properly. (i'm looking at you, 'Johnny Test'.)

@Launchpad05 I'm still not a huge fan of Flash animations (Johnny Test is simply painful to watch) but I agree that this one's done amazingly well. It compensates with stunning art, and the flash is well done.

@Launchpad05 actually most likely it isn't flash but uses the same techniques as flash. it's probably after effects or an animation program. flash is mainly used for the web but this can be acheived in flash most companies just prefer to use other programs.

@iceeman931 Yep. It's usually pretty easy to tell; if the characters look like a set of pieces that slide around on-screen, it's probably flash. Wakfu is a special case; it's Flash that actually looks GOOD, because they animate frame-by-frame for the most part.
Season 2 is a bit different; they actually have three teams. One does the quick run in cheap flash, the second goes over it with 3D models where necessary, and the third animates everything frame by frame.
