"I actually got a backstage pass to Emerson Lake & Palmer because I stayed home & did Algebra, while everybody else was out having sex!" lol at 3:15 ... classic Dave Wilson. RIP Dave, from a highschool friend who spent many long hours in just these convos with Dave at his home in Fairfield during the dawn of digital synth on TRS-80 PCs.
It was a shame, really. The museum was not set up, no time spent on presentation of history. It was just a guy grabbing all the synths he could get (Why would you need 4 Moog filter banks?), and throwing them in the rooms. He had knowledge and information that will now be lost. Synths donated were getting damaged by the poor condition of the place, or by being just left on the floor and getting kicked. It's a mental sickness, that manifested a cool collection. Really sad.
id like to hear more of what he has to say, stories and knowledge , its such an esoteric field and he has such an amazing collection to talk about. respect. cool film, cheers
the best part was when he accidentally drops his elbow on the synth behind him to the left(at the 3min26sec mark)... hilarious stuff... this fella is brilliant... also, i love the Korg Mono/Poly as well!!!
The "staying home doing algebra" line is one of the best lines I've heard all year. This guy is a ticket, too bad there's the atlantic in the way, Pokémon and synths, a perfect way to while away an afternoon!
i live in derry nh.. if these synths have not all been sold or given away... please give them to me..( haha.. )
