  • i always go ssssssss before i sssstarngle my victimsssssssssssssss

  • fuck jill

  • freakIing crazy.... I didn't like this one as a kid and I hope I don't have nightmares tonite.. yikes!

  • Some of his smiles look like he's thinking, "Yesssss, I'm ssssso sssssmart."

  • Who is that talking to the snake and who does the voice of the snake?

  • YEZZZZZ! That's what it seems the announcer was saying when the snake smiled. Other people who have posted are right - the announcer here is voiced by the same man as the host in the 'An M Comes to Dinner' clip. Great memory - yesssssss indeed!

  • Didn't scare me, but I did get a weird dream from his smile at 0:29.

  • This gave me years of nightmares as a kid!!! This and that orange that sang opera...

  • This did not give me nightmares when I was a kid birdrah.

  • Was that Bill Cosby talking to the snake?

  • kind of sounds like him at first but it's not. sounds like an old white dude.

  • Does anyone know the name of the greedy M video that is mentioned a few posts below?

  • Yes, do a search for "Sesame Street - An M comes to dinner"

  • I used to hide when this came on...this ranks up there with the "U & N...together they make the sound UN" and then the other letter would come marching up from behind...scared the crap outta me

  • This really creeped me out when I was a kid

  • Me too! That ssssnake is ssssscary!

  • Why does the snake look so suprised when he says I see?

  • lol!!...that WAS funny though!

  • I was wondering the same thing too. Maybe the snake got surprised because, as the announcer said "I see", since "see" begins with "S", the snake must have thought that the announcer was another snake making an "S" sound too. (At 0:49, the announcer made a little bit of a long "S" sound before saying the word "see", so the snake must have been surprised thinking that he was talking to another snake without him knowing. (This is just my guess).

  • Who is doing the voices?

  • Voice: How did you know what the sound of the letter S is?

Snake: Ssssssssir, I wasn't born yesssssssssterday.

  • S is for sssspooky...that must've scared the pants off a lot of kids when the snake revealed itself at the end.

  • Didn't really scare me. I remember thinking at first that he was just a live S judging by way he was shaped. So that when he said was a snake, I just thought, 'well what do you know'.

  • Kids love snakes, but when they grow up their parents and other society make them hate and fear snakes:(

  • Another creepy classic that I haven't seen since I was a kid. The narrator is the same actor from that other Hubley short about the guy who invited a greedy M to dinner.

  • the greedy M is my favorite sesame street segment ever!! lol!
